“Does that mean you’ll move in?”

She nods. “Yeah.”

“Good. Then I’ll focus on the nursery so you don’t have to worry about anything else.”

“I mean, I might need some clothes at some point.”

“I don’t know, Cowgirl. I’d be okay if all you had were these cowboy boots.”

“Of course you would be. I need a lot more than just these.”

“You look pretty good in only them.”

“Stop it.” She swats at me. “Now help me up. If I’m going to be moving in here, I think I need to go get stuff from home.”

“You know I didn’t mean right this minute.”

“Grant.” She drops her fists on her hips. “The baby will be here before we know it. What if he comes early? We need to get started.”

I try to hug her, but it’s getting harder and harder the bigger she gets. I fucking love it. Knowing it’s our baby inside of her.

“Do you want me to send Luke to help you pack things up?” I ask.

She shakes her head. “No. I’m sure he’s tired of us for one day. He can play his video games.”

“You sure? I can help you after I go to the hardware store.”

“Are you sure I can’t go with you to pick out paint?”

“Georgia, trust me. I think you’ll like what I have in mind.”

“It won’t be black, right?”

“Even if it were, you have to trust me.”

What I have in mind I know she’ll love. It’ll be perfect for the baby.

I will do whatever it takes to make sure everything is just right for Georgia and our baby. Because I want all of us together under one roof.

To give Georgia the family she never had growing up.

All four of us. Together.

The way it should be.

Chapter Thirty-Five

GRANT

Why did I think hanging wallpaper would be a good idea? This is about as far from a good idea as it gets.

I wanted to do it for Georgia while she is at work. The paint splashes are finally gone, now a light beige color. It’s going to match the border I have perfectly. If I can manage to get this up straight.

Luke was trying to help, but we only got irritated with one another, so I let him go play video games. With the baby furniture set to arrive next week, I want to make sure this is done and ready to go.

Because after that, things will be moving quickly. I don’t know how much longer Georgia is going to work with how uncomfortable she is, but if this is done, that’s something she doesn’t have to worry about.

She’ll be more concerned with making sure her students are covered at the ranch, while I’m thankful I have the time off during this offseason to spend the first few months at home with Georgia and the baby.
