“Tacos.”

“Alright, fav color?”

“Sky blue.”

“Mine used to be green.”

“Used to be?”

“Yeah, blue started lookin’ better,” I answered before I glanced over at her for a second.

“See you smoother than I thought.”

“I wasn’t tryna be smooth.”

“And that’s what put you on a different level than what I thought.”

All I could do was chuckle while I shook my head with a smirk on her face. I really was being real with my answer because she was wearing the fuck out of that dress. When we pulled into the parking lot, I grabbed a spot before getting out to help Harli out. With the ground being even here, she didn’t need my help as she walked effortlessly to the doors. I couldn’t help but get a glimpse of her ass the way it swayed in that dress. After I gave the host my name, we were escorted to our table.

“You got one left,” Harli announced after we gave the waiter our drink order.

“One what?” I tilted my head in confusion.

“One question. You only asked me two before you got called out for being a smooth talker.”

“I ain’t no smooth talker,” I chuckled. “And that’s right. You gotta promise me you gonna answer truthfully.”

“You act like I been lyin’ with the other questions, but ok,” she shrugged. “What’s yo’ question?”

“If your bike broke down and I wasn’t around… would you call me to come get you?”

“I got roadside.”

“That’s not what I asked. Why you dodgin’ the question?”

“I mean if I ain’t have nobody else, yeah I’d call you.”

“That’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout.”

“Not you celebratin’ barely makin’ the list.”

“I mean, out of a list of three, maybe four if you’re desperate, it wasn’t hard to make.”

“Not you bein’ shady to a bitch,” she scoffed with her hand pressing against her chest area. “Let me hurry up and eat so I can get from ‘round you.”

“I was just playin’,” I pleaded. “My bad, I ain’t mean no harm.”

“Nawl, you ate with that one.”

“I just meant that you’re very selective with yo’ time, and I’m truly honored to be blessed with some of it.”

“And there go that lil’ smooth talker you claim you ain’t.”

All I could do was laugh as she joined me for the first time tonight. Her laugh was so contagious that it caused me to laugh longer. We naturally fell into silence as we started to enjoy our meal. I was pleasantly surprised that she was actually eating, because you know how some girls like to cute eat around a nigga. Harli wasn’t eating messy or no shit like that, but she was eating like a normal person instead of taking little cutesy bites. After we finished our meal and ordered dessert, I couldn’t help but gawk at how fine Harli was.

“You lookin’ over here like you lost somethin’,” Harli sassed once she stopped avoiding my gaze.

“Nawl, I’m lookin’ like I want somethin’,” I smirked as the waiter sat our dessert in front of us. “You gonna let me have what I want?”
