“Don’t threaten me with a good time.”

“Man, take yo’ lil’ horny ass on,” he laughed as he playfully pushed me up off him.

My mom and Yas walked in before I could even defend myself. It wasn’t my fault that this man was sexier than a muthafucka. Giving my mom a hug, I stepped into the living room to call the girls downstairs. Within seconds you could hear their little footsteps before you saw them. They weren’t too far behind me when I returned to the kitchen. Nyla acted as if her grandma wasn’t in front of her and went straight for Nas.

“Oh, dang you don’t see yo’ granny sittin’ here?” My mom inquired after she broke her hug with Chanel. “That’s how you do me, Nyla Pooh?”

“Sorry,” Nyla apologized as Nas placed her on the ground. She beelined over to my mom who welcomed her with open arms. “Hey, Granny.”

“Hey, Granny’s girl. Are you and Chanel ready to build a gingerbread house?”

“Yesss!” They exclaimed in unison.

I watched as the three of them left out before I placed all the peeled potatoes in the pot. Nas eventually went back into the room, so that he and Chance could start wrapping gifts. It was a little after five and with everything they had they’ll be wrapping until midnight. Two hours later, everything was cooked and sat out on the table. I’d cooked smothered chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, collard greens, baked mac and cheese and honey cornbread. For dessert I baked Nas’s favorite red velvet cake with half of it covered in pecan toppings.

Our Christmas Eve dinner went off without a hitch, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. To have Nas home for the holidays was the best gift despite the rocky reunion we had when he came home. Christmas hadn’t felt this peaceful since Mama Eva’s death. She was truly missed around this time but like tradition me and Nyla were going to her gravesite to place flowers on her headstone. This time it would be even better because Nas was coming with us.

After dinner was completed, my mom bathed the girls while me and Yas cleaned up. With everybody staying the night here I was thankful for the five bedroom house that Nas forced upon me. Once everything was cleaned up, I went upstairs to shower before calling it a night. Getting into bed, I looked at the time and noticed that it was ten minutes until midnight. I pulled out my phone to send Nas a quick text.

Me:

Still down there playin’ Santa?

Him:

Almost done. Wassup?

Me:

Tryna see if I can get a lil’ of Santa’s candy cane tonight.

Him:

Look how you do me. Only usin’ me for sex.

Me:

Is that a no?

Him:

Hell nawl. After I place these gifts under the tree I’ll be right there.

Me:

Don’t have me waitin’ too long, Mr. Claus.

Him:

I won’t, Mrs. Claus.

The door of my room crept open slowly causing me to become giddy with excitement. I pretended to be asleep as I watched Nas move about my room through the tiny slit of my eyes. Once he went into the bathroom and the shower turned on, I hopped out of the bed. The naughty Mrs. Claus lingerie I’d secured for tonight was tucked in the back of my closet. After I changed into that I got back into bed and wrapped myself up in the covers to wait for Nas to get out of the shower.

“You can stay pretendin’ to be sleep,” Nas chuckled as he stepped out of the bathroom. “Next time you wanna pretend to sleep how ‘bout you remember to breathe ‘cause that was yo’ dead giveaway.”

“Dammit,” I cursed before sitting up in bed still hiding my outfit with the covers. “Why you ain’t say nothin’ when you first came in?”

“Because I had to clean my dick. I’ve been rippin’ and runnin’ all day; I’d be a foul ass nigga to give you some sweaty ass dick.”
