I wasted no time pulling her thong to the side. “Are you wet?” I didn’t want to hurt her.

“Yes. Less talk, more sex.”

My chuckle made it difficult to line myself up with her opening. But once I did, oh, Lord, how I wished we could stay like this forever. Deep inside of her, plunging over and over while she held on tight, riding me in an erotic rhythm.

Her fingernails dug into my shoulders while I worked to shift my weight and get a better angle before the next thrust. Her head reared back with a resounding thump on the wall, but she didn’t seem to notice. Instead, her thighs gripped me harder, pulling me in deeper. I continued to pound her against the vertical surface, handling her weight like it was nothing. Nipping at her neck, I finally hit the spot which had her pussy clamping down hard. Her climax hit at full force.

With one final thrust, I buried myself to the hilt and ground out my orgasm, meeting her lips in a soul-crushing kiss. Jesus, when had sex ever felt like this? I didn’t dare examine the answer.

After easing out and setting her gently on her feet, I led her into her bedroom. There I happily undressed her. Her body was an absolute wonderland. Having it snuggled up next to me in her bed was heaven. “Have I mentioned how comfortable your bed is?”

“Mm, sorry, it’s spoken for.”

I stroked my hand down the soft skin of her back. “You could come over next weekend and give mine some pointers.”

“I’d be happy to. So are we sticking to Saturdays only?”

It was a fair question. “Anytime from Friday night to Sunday morning I’m all yours.” I wasn’t fit for company starting with Sunday afternoon when I began prepping for the workweek.

She didn’t react like I thought she would. Instead she sighed. “Um, okay, but sometimes I do have plans on Friday or Saturday nights, hanging with my girlfriends. I might have to babysit or have dog-sitting duties too.”

Right. Daisy had more of a life than I did. “Of course, we can be flexible.” As if the f word was something I was familiar with. “Although I’d like to keep our Saturday morning tradition if we could.”

“Me too. Can I ask one other thing, though?”

“Sure.”

“Would it be possible to text or talk during the week? Not every day, but maybe not going five days without anything. Before, it was hard enough to have you all business after our Saturdays together, but now I’d start to take it personally.”

“I’m not good with mixing my work with personal. But I’ll try.” It sounded lame, but she smiled as if she had more faith in me than I did. At least I’d have the weekends when, hopefully, I could make up to her whatever I’d lacked giving her during the week.

“Thank you.”

“You mentioned your online dating was disastrous. How so?” Maybe if I knew what she considered a flop of a date, I could plan to do better.

“Well, one guy suggested he could take me to the gym to work on my ‘problem areas.’ Another suggested I blow him in the car after dinner. Another was rude to the waitress when she forgot his side of ketchup.”

“Jesus, no wonder you gave it up.” I wasn’t perfect, but I sure as hell would never treat anyone so poorly. Still, just because Daisy’s dating experience had set the bar low didn’t mean I should be aiming that direction. No, I wanted to show her romance. Only problem was I didn’t have a clue how.

I’d graduated at the top of my law school class at Stanford. I’d stood in front of judges and sobbing clients in the worst moment of their lives without a flinch. Yet here I was on a Thursday morning, sweating at the thought of ordering flowers. Sure, the mechanics were easy enough. Go to the website, click on a flower arrangement, add to cart, and then check out. But I was stymied by the need to write something for the note. Then I started overthinking where I should have them delivered and if I should sign my name.

I could save myself the trouble and have the flowers delivered to Daisy’s apartment, but I’d have to ensure she’d be home to receive them. Or I could simply give them to her in person tomorrow night. Or I could scrap the entire idea.

Jesus, why was I obsessing over this? I shouldn’t even be doing such a personal task during a busy work morning. I needed advice. I quickly dialed Lucas, hoping he wasn’t in the middle of an appointment.

He picked up after the first ring. “Hi, Caleb, everything okay?”

“Yeah, why did you answer that way?”

“Um, because it’s a Thursday morning when you’re typically in the office. Barring a medical emergency, I wouldn’t expect to hear from you during the week.”

“Yeah. Things are fine. I’m sorry for the interruption. It’s stupid.” I regretted the impulse to call him, especially given what I was about to ask.

“It’s not an interruption. I had a free morning. What’s up?”

“I need to know something about flowers. If you were sending them to a woman, do roses indicate something, or should I stick to some other type? Do I need to worry about the color sending the wrong message?”
