I glanced over to where others were gathering with their mats. “People pay to do yoga in a field with goats?”
“Yes, they say it’s calming. Come on. I’ve always wanted to do it, and what could possibly go wrong?”
Bodily fluids came to mind, but I wouldn’t spoil her enthusiasm. We got checked in and went to a fenced-in area to lay down our mats along with about twenty other participants. Once the instructor took position in front, they put the baby goats in with us, trailing food throughout the enclosure so they’d be interested in staying.
I wasn’t surprised when one came over to Daisy, probably sensing she’d be kind and gentle. She wasted no time snuggling it on her lap while the instructor started warming us up.
“I see how it is. You cuddle the goat while I have to do the exercise.”
She grinned. “Absolutely.”
I took out my phone to snap a picture for her, the image causing a lump in my throat. She was so damn pretty.
“Wanna hold him? He’s so sweet.”
“Sure.” I took the baby goat in my hands, rubbing his head. Cute little thing. And hell, maybe they were good for calming. Sitting there with the little guy on my lap while watching Daisy move her body into a yoga pose made this one of the best Saturdays I’d had in a long time. With the exception of Saturday night after I’d kissed her. An image of her sexy body came to mind along with the memory of how responsive she was in bed.
Nope, I couldn’t go there. No one wanted to see a guy holding a baby goat and sporting an erection.
I let the little fella go, took a deep breath to diffuse the situation, and settled into a downward dog pose. Glancing over toward Daisy, I found my gaze glued to her ass. Her spectacular, especially in those yoga pants, ass. So much for rectifying the situation. I forced my eyes straight ahead and tried to picture anything but the beautiful woman beside me.
Goat yoga was torture, as it turned out, but not because of the goats. More from watching Daisy move her body into various positions.
After the instructor finished with a namaste, I snapped a couple more photos of Daisy with the goat babies, and we packed up.
“What did you think?”
“I thought it was fun.” I went around her side of the truck to unlock the door, putting me oh so close to her. As if I was in a trance, I tipped her chin up and watched as she swallowed hard at the touch.
“Can I kiss you?” My voice was laced with need.
“After yoga with baby goats, I believe it might be tradition.”
God, she was adorable. Dipping my head, I touched my lips to hers. I kissed her softly at first, taking my time to taste her. Fuck, when her tongue touched mine, I was hard pressed to remember we were in public. I wanted nothing more than to lift her up, wrap her legs around me, and drive into her sweet heat. I finally pulled back, reluctantly halting the kiss.
“What do you feel like for lunch?”
Her dazed expression was reflective of my inner turmoil. “Um, I’m not sure my brain is working any longer. Perhaps you should pick.”
We settled on a nearby brewery, where I ordered a beer and the fish and chips, and she ordered an iced tea and a burger.
“I was thinking about a movie after this?” I’d spotted the theater next door, and since it had been years since I’d seen one on the big screen, I thought it could be fun.
“Um, actually, I have plans.”
My adrenaline instantly spiked. “A date?”
She put her food down on her plate and fixed her gaze on mine. “Although I appreciate we’ve evidently become the kind of friends who kiss after yoga class, I don’t want to hear about your dates or talk about mine.”
My molars ground at the thought of another man taking her out. He’d probably have a ton of things to talk about with her. He wouldn’t need to practice his questions or try to remember to inflect emotion into his voice so people didn’t think his tone was robotic. He wouldn’t be tied to a routine for comfort and stability. Nope, he would be charming, and their date would be natural. “So you do have a date tonight?”
She sighed. “No, I’m having dinner at Tory’s house. After, I’m heading home to walk the neighbor’s dog.” She took another bite before asking, “Do you have a date tonight?”
“No.” I had no desire to date anyone else.
“Okay, moving on, what do you want to do next Saturday?”
I wanted to wake her up in my bed with my tongue between her legs. Bring her breakfast before taking her into my steam shower and hoisting her up on my stone shelf so I could have her against the wall. Take time to explore and memorize her body, something I hadn’t had the chance to do last weekend.
