I let out an exaggerated sigh. “I hate all of y’all.”

Dice laughed. “No, you don’t.”

I still couldn’t believe we actually took down the infamous Ross Savings & Loan. After everything it took to get there, that was one hell of a way to end our final ride.

Chapter 19

Cario “Crow” Domingo

Icouldn’t believe the ladies had actually pulled that shit off. One of the biggest heists in the world was finally behind us, and for the first time in years, we could actually move on with our lives. I sat on the couch watching the news recap everything that had happened at Ross Savings & Loan. Every station had a different theory about who pulled it off, but none of them came close to the truth. They called them ghosts. According to the news, they had appeared out of nowhere, walked into one of the most secure banks in the country, took what they came for, and disappeared without leaving behind enough evidence for anyone to figure out who the hell they were. I smiled because I knew exactly who those ghosts were: Kash, Dice, and Rebel.

Rebel and I were thousands of miles away from Magnolia Valley after catching a plane for a much-needed vacation. After everything we’d been through, we had earned every second of it to relax.

A small smile crossed my face as another reporter admitted investigators still had no suspects. But they’re trying to see if the robbery is connected to the other robberies. I grabbed the remote, turned off the television, and walked out onto the balcony. Rebel stood with both hands resting on the railing, listening to the waves crash against the shore. The ocean breeze danced through her locs as she stared out across the water. For the first time since I’d known her, she looked... peaceful.

I walked up behind her, wrapped my arms around her waist, and kissed the side of her neck before gently turning her around to face me. My eyes searched hers, and the pain was still there. It probably always would be. Nobody ever truly got over losing someone like Rose. But I could see the difference. The hurt that once consumed her wasn’t as heavy anymore. She would always grieve her sister, but I could tell she finally wanted to heal.

“Damn... you’re beautiful.”

She smiled right back at me. “And you’re so damn sexy, Crow.”

I chuckled.

“I wanna thank you.”

“For what?”

“For loving me. Not as my man, but for always being my best friend. Before we ever decided to be more, you made my heart feel safe. You have protected me more than any man could, especially that bitch-ass Titan. Even when I didn’t know how to love myself, you never stopped loving me as your friend. Thank you for never giving up on me.”

I smiled and gently rubbed my thumb across her cheek. “Rain... you ain’t gotta thank me for that.”

“Why not?”

“Because loving you was the easiest thing I ever did. Before you became my woman, you were my best friend. Protecting you wasn’t some obligation... it was what I wanted to do. I would’ve done that shit whether we ever got together or not.”

I smiled. “You’ve had my back since we were kids. It was only right that I had yours.”

“I love you,” I said softly. “And I always wanted to show you that.”

A smile spread across Rebel’s face.

Without saying another word, she reached for my hand and intertwined our fingers.

“Come on.”

I let her lead me away from the balcony and into our bedroom. The moment the door closed behind us, she wrapped her arms around my neck and crashed her lips against mine. I smiled into the kiss as my hands settled on her waist, pulling her closer. There wasn’t a need for words anymore. After everything we’d survived, we both knew exactly what this moment meant. Rebel allowed me to take the lead and strip off her clothes, revealing her hardened nipples. They were so petite that I gently took each of them into my mouth, causing her body to shake. I sucked and nibbled on them as her body shuddered and she moaned.

Once I was done exploring her breast, Rebel lay back with her legs wide open ready to get dick down. I sank deep into her as she wrapped her legs around my waist. Her body trembled from every stroke. While slowly moving with her, I kissed her long and hard. Her inner walls squeezed around me as she climaxed. She was so goddamn wet that I had to slow down. Then I turned her onto her side and gently brushed my lips against the side of her neck as I grind inside of her wetness.

When I released inside her, a soft smile tugged at my lips as I wrapped my arm around her waist and held her close. She let out a quiet sigh, leaning back into me like she belonged there.

“You okay?” I whispered.

She nodded without saying a word. I kissed her shoulder, then rested my forehead against hers. My fingers slowly traced circles along her side while we stood there, neither of us in a hurry to speak. After everything we’d been through, this kind of silence said more than words ever could.

“I love you, Rain,” I told her.

She turned her head just enough to meet my eyes and smiled.
