Her lips tugged into a smile. “Definitely the riding kind.”

“Why do you think I put you in my bed?”

Her smile turned up to man-eater wattage. “Because you want me there.”

“Have for years.”

He took one last step and stopped inches from her. Win turned to face him. Even in her boots and with him in his stocking feet, she stood about a half a foot shorter than him, and his shoulders were twice as wide as her body.

“Then it’s lucky for both of us that I’m going to be here for a few months.”

She was negotiating an affair. Bo was angling for something much more permanent. But Windsor Reed didn’t need anything spooking her, especially his intentions.

“Very lucky.”

“I’m glad you think so.”

“I’ll be happy to show you.”

Her voluptuous chest lifted with her indrawn breath. “And the rest of the cast and crew?”

“Definitely not showing them.”

“So, we agree—this is solely between us, and no one else ever needs to know.”

“Solely between us,” he agreed. The rest, he left out.

“What about the others staying in the house?”

“They aren’t.”

“They aren’t? All this room, and it’s just you and me in this giant house?”

He couldn’t stop himself from lifting his fingers to move a lock of her golden-blonde hair from where it had fallen into her face.

“Just you and me.”

“That’s rather … fortunate.”

“I thought so.”

She stilled. “You planned this.”

“As soon as you signed that contract, I flew to LA and offered the ranch for filming.”

Her blue gaze widened. “Because of me?”

“All because of you.”

She took a controlled breath in. Windsor was nothing if not controlled. “Well, that’s … news.”

“Since we’re laying some cards on the table, Win, you might as well know I’ve been waiting for my chance with you for a long time. I only took this part because they said you had asked for yours.”

“Seriously?”

He nodded, and then Ian cleared his throat from the other side of the great room. Bo stepped away from her and took it as a sign that any other confessions could wait.

“Ian, this is Ms. Reed. Ms. Reed, this is my nephew Ian. He lives here and helps around the ranch. If you need anything, either he, Ephraim, or Marta—who you’ll meet shortly—can help you.”
