“The three of us are going on a little drive. I’ll tell you what you want to know, but not here,” I say, watching as they exchange a look, and finally, Jasper speaks up.
“I swear to god, Carter, if you’re playing fucking games,” he starts, but I cut him off, my skirt flowing through the air as I jump off the desk.
“No games. Pinky promise.” I offer my little finger, waiting to see if either one of them takes me up on it.
Tyson steps forward, attaching his pinky to mine and snaking his arm around my waist.
“Come on, I’ll drive,” he says softly, a small smile cascading across his lips, the same calm, sensual demeanor I’ve come to know from him.
Flanking me on either side, the boys escort me out of the house, down to the street where Tyson unlocks his truck, the monstrous vehicle standing out amongst the sports cars and motorcycles.
Being sandwiched between these muscular, criminally insane men has my body on fire, flaming all the way down to every last nerve ending, and I let my mind wander, wondering what it’d be like to have both of them at the same time.
Their massive hands could cover every inch of my skin, and just the thought has me clenching my thighs together, the friskiness of my inner monologue turning me on way beyond what I’ve ever felt before.
Still, I’m here for business, not pleasure, and I need to earn their trust if I intend to get anywhere in the vicinity of the brewing war.
The mission is everything.
SEVEN
TYSON
This girl is probably about to murder us both and ditch our bodies in the forest, all with an evil grin on her face, but if that’s how I die – at her mercy – I think I’d be okay with that.
Massi is practically fuming, steam coming out of his ears, but Carter just sits on the middle bench between us without a care in the world.
A normal girl would find herself in this situation and exude fear, but not her.
She’s actually smiling, acting like this is an average afternoon, and we’re all going for a countryside drive.
Massi filled me in on his borderline insane behavior of breaking into her apartment, and I’ll admit, she is beginning to seem suspicious, but between the two of us, I’m more likely to offer the benefit of the doubt.
“Start talking,” Massi demands the second we pull onto the highway, far enough away from Emory campus.
“Ask me what you want to know, Jasper. I don’t have anything to hide,” she says sweetly, and I swear, she’s the best actress I’ve ever seen.
Nothing phases, intimidates, or trips her up, and I’m more impressed as the minutes pass.
Not to mention, her sweet perfume has invaded my truck, mixing with the faint stench of cigarettes, and I’m certain that I’ll never fully get her scent out of here.
“What’s your real name?” He starts, and she doesn’t skip a beat.
“Carter Cassina. Any more brain busters?” Carter snarks, and I see the fire behind Massi’s eyes, like he’s ready to ring her neck.
“Who are you working for?”
“Working for? What the hell do you think I am, some kind of undercover FBI agent?” She laughs, further pushing Massi’s buttons, something she’s extremely good at.
“Then explain why you’re a ghost online. Why your apartment is bare, and you don’t have any personal items or ties to your home?” He snaps, and she cocks her head to the side.
“So you admit that you broke into my apartment?”
He scoots up a bit, pulling something out of his pocket, dropping a pair of lacy black panties in her lap, and her jaw pops open in a mix of shock, and amusement.
“You’re fucking sick,” she laughs, shaking her head at him like this is just a casual conversation.
“You have no idea, Principessina. Now, are you going to answer my questions honestly?” He asks her, and she rolls her eyes, that smart mouth ready to hit him hard.
