Tipping my head upright I look at Mercy. Really look at her. Look past the cool, blue gaze into her shadows.
“I sleep well at night knowing that I had a hand in keeping Elias breathing. I would do the same for you and all the men in the MC.”
“Sunny, we’re not good people,” she says, searching my gaze.
I frown a little. “How much time do you spend with Revenant? Sheesh.” I turn my body to face her. “To me, good and bad is a spectrum. Do you kill people? Yeah. But do you keep Winlaw and everyone in it safe? Also yeah. You could be out here peddling drugs or snatching up women and you’re not. The key is balance. For every sin you commit you must balance it out with good.”
“So, what are you going to do to balance out your kills?”
“I’m gonna protect Elias and the club. Love my parents. And kill anyone who needs it.”
Mercy’s lips lift and she gazes out across the gravel, taking a sip from her coffee. “And you really think that is enough?”
“As long as my people are safe, I don’t care.” I shrug.
“What if keeping them safe means walking away?”
I search Mercy’s face, the darkness there in full force. “Is that what you did?”
She’s silent for so long I figure she’s not going to answer. Instead she nods, whispering, “My little girl.” She swallows, her gaze on mine, steady.
We sit there, breathing, calm to anyone watching. “Does she have all the things you wished for her?”
“Yeah.”
I dip my chin. “Then I’d say you’re a good mom.”
She lets out a huff. “Right.”
“Have you seen her? Is she happy?”
“She calls me Mercy.”
My chest aches for someone I’m starting to see as a friend. I want to wrap her up and squeeze the stuffing out of her, but that’s not Mercy. Instead, I take Mercy’s cup before bumping her gently with my shoulder. “You did your job. You gave her what you couldn’t. Yet.”
I move to stand then slowly wander toward the clubhouse, before turning, walking backwards, eyes on Mercy. “Wanna help me fuck with Brake?”
“All day, every day.”
Pipes fill the air and I know that sound. My man is coming home, I have a real life girl friend, and I’m about to ruin a hungover man’s day. I love it here.
Revenant
“So, did you see my dad? Did he tell you to stop living inside that big, beautiful head of yours and accept my claim?” Sunny interrogates as soon as she finishes fucking with Brake.
She beams up at me, hands behind her back, plump tits brushing my sternum as she swishes back and forth looking like the least innocent person in the world. Fucking adorable.
Then her words hit and my brow raises of its own accord. “Claim?”
“Yeah. I’ve already asked Gallows for a cut. Yours will say ‘Property of Sunny’, obviously.”
I stare at her and everything in me just…settles. My gut says she’s mine. And this time, I’m going to listen.
I hook a finger into the top of her tank, right between those plump tits I had in my hands and mouth last night, and tug her until she’s pressed hard up against me. My hands find her cheeks and I bring her face up to meet mine, lips on lips, tongue seeking entrance, the need to taste her is overwhelming. Cheers and whistles break out behind us and I don’t give a shit.
I don’t give a shit when Sunny takes my hand and tugs me up the stairs, and I don’t give a shit at the look on Bubbles’ face when Sunny flips her the bird in the hallway. All I care about is getting Sunny naked and worshipping her the way she deserves.
She leads me to my room, a coy smile on her face but I know Sunny. She tugs me inside, kicking the door shut behind us.
