“So what are you saying?”

“Really?”

“Yes, really. You seem to have all the answers.”

With a near sadistic look on her face, my sister pulled something from her back pocket, hiding it as she approached. “Close your eyes and hold out your arm.”

“Why?”

“Do it.”

She was going to make some guy very happy one day. As long as he had balls of steel. I did as she demanded but not without reservations. The stench of a Sharpie caught my attention a little too late. She was already scribbling something on my arm.

“What are you doing?”

“Eyes closed.” My sister could snarl with the best of them.

I did except I popped open one eye just as she was finishing. “You are…”

“Be nice,” she huffed. “I knew you wouldn’t listen to me or you’d conveniently forget so I gave you instant gratification.”

Go see Georgia, you big lunkhead. Velvet Roast

To add insult to injury, she’d used a wide-tipped red Sharpie. After blowing on the tip just to be cool, she popped the cap just as a louder clap of thunder forced a tiny gasp from her mouth.

“You should go now before the storm hits.”

“I have business to finish, darling sister of mine.”

She moved around me, yanking the iPad from the table. “Not any longer. I might be a girl, but I’m capable of running the sawmill all by myself.”

As she flicked her hair, swinging her hips as she walked away, all I could was drop my head and laugh. I flexed my arm, staring at the way the letters in Georgia’s name swelled. The nights had been the hardest, desire creating images that left me fully aroused and aching come every morning. Maybe I should clear the air if nothing else.

Why did I have a feeling Georgia just might use the opportunity to eat me alive?

Amazing.

My cock was already aching.

CHAPTER 19

Ford

Since when did I hum?

Never.

But that’s exactly what I was doing. Along with fighting distinct primal urges that could have me labeled a very bad beast.

With a quicker step than usual, I headed to my truck. Now I knew the feisty woman was working at the coffee shop. I had a feeling that her main objective was staying as far away from hockey as possible.

Or maybe she was just trying to lay low in case that asshole tried to find her. As I headed out of the main yard, I realized how much tension remained. If the son of the bitch decided to come for her again, he’d need to get through me.

I was almost to the parking lot when something caught my eye. Woods surrounded the property that was located on over one hundred acres, the Cascade Mountains as a backdrop on oneside and a river on another. That left one long driveway to get to the facility, no other access unless someone hiked through the woods.

With a prickling sensation crawling down my back, I scanned the woods, trying to figure out what I’d seen. Movement. That’s what I’d seen. I took off toward the area, my eyes constantly roaming the tree line.

“What the fuck?” Had I now been reduced down to seeing things? There was an impenetrable quiet in the forest, not a single sound. No birds. No crickets given the time of year. Nothing but the rumble from the approaching storm as if coming from deep within the earth.
