“Em, what do people in Nashville wear to go grocery shopping?” I’m shouting from inside the closet in my rental—a four-bedroom in Williamson County with a three-way mirror in the walk-in wardrobe. I’ve never set foot in a Publix, and I have to imagine it’s a different vibe from Erewhon—different energies for different grocery allegiances. We’re two weeks into filming here, but I haven’t gotten out enough to have a sense of what’s normal attire in this town.
Emily leans against the doorframe with her arms crossed over her chest. “Are you asking me for outfit advice so you can blend in with us common folk?” Smug. That’s the look on her face right now as I flip through the hangers: smug.
“Are you going to help me, or should I google it? I need something easy, cute.”
“Cute because this is an opportunity to get peopletalking, or cute because you’re seeing Levi off set?” She smacks her lips to accompany the question.
“Yes—both—does it matter?”
