Sunny hesitates, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her face before she hides it. “You’re lying. You’ve tricked them into covering for you. There’s no way Tico would ever pick someone like you over me.”

Picking up my empty plate, I level her with a hard look. “It’s no skin off my back if you believe me or not, but we are telling thetruth. And if Tico was going to pick you as his Ol’ Lady, it would have happened by now.”

I walk past her towards the dishwasher, intent on putting my plate inside, when she stops me. She grabs my arm, her nails digging into my skin. I still and turn toward her. She blanches at the look on my face, but her grip doesn’t loosen.

“Release me or I’ll make you release me.”

I hear someone shifting behind me and know Liam’s about to step in.

Sunny scoffs. “No. You need to get your shit and scram, bitch.”

I drop the plate, ignoring the shatter it makes when it falls to the ground and breaks. I grab Sunny’s arm and press on her pressure points. She screeches in pain as I press harder until she releases me. Her other arm raises to hit me but I catch her wrist and tsk at her. Behind her, Pyper cackles.

“Yeah, that was real smart, Sunny,” she says sarcastically. “Like you’d be able to beat or slap my sister. She’s a trained fighter and has been fighting for the past ten years.”

Sunny blanches and I nod.

“Very, very stupid. If you ever lay a hand on me again or my sister, I will beat your ass into a bloody pulp. Now get out of here,” I tell her as I release her hands, slightly shoving her away from me. She’s obviously shaken by how easily I out maneuvered her, but I know this isn’t the end of this. It never is when it comes to bunnies and the men they set their sights on.

“This isn’t over,” she sneers, confirming my train of thought but then she shrieks in surprise when Liam clears his throat from behind her. She whirls around at his voice, almost falling on her ass.

“Yes, it is, Sunny. You know the rules of the club. You respect the women and Ol’ Ladies of the club. If you don’t, your ass gets thrown out on the curb, and you can bet your ass I’ll be informing Tico of your little stunt.”

Sunny blanches, and with another glare sent my way, she struts out of the room like she did nothing wrong.

Liam gives me a nod of approval which has more tension bleeding out of me. This club really is different.

Walking over to the closet, I grab a broom to clean up my mess.

Chapter 16

Ember

Halfanhourlater,Pyper and I are sitting on the couches in the main room when the door to the Chapel opens and the guys all pour out. As they pass us, each of them gives us a chin lift or a head nod and a knot in my chest loosens a little at the gesture.

Tico is the last one to step out and the relief on his face when he sees me has my heart beating faster. He heads towards me, but then a streak of blonde darts out from the hall and I instantlysee red as Sunny plasters herself to Tico’s side. He pushes her away, snarling something low at her that I can’t make out. Instead of leaving him alone, she presses herself against him again, rubbing her breasts against him. Her hand slides down his chest, intent on grabbing his dick no doubt.

I’m off the couch before I realized I’ve moved and a slow smirk forms on Tico’s face when his gaze meets mine again.

Grabbing Sunny’s hair, I yank her off him, ignoring her shrieks before pushing her away and stepping in between them. She stumbles in her heels but manages to catch herself at the last second. She glares at me as I crack my knuckles and I purposefully ignore the murmurs of the other club bunnies.

I’m claiming what’s mine.

“Remember what I told you in the kitchen, Sunny? Tico is mine and I won’t tolerate a club bunny or any other woman touching what’s mine.”

“He’s not really with you,” she spits. “You lied and tricked him into protecting you. Tico, Baby, she isn’t worth protecting. She’s just some scarred up, trailer park white trash. Her and her sister are spies for the Chrome Vipers. Why can’t you see that?”

My muscles tense at her words and I narrow my eyes at her. I don’t know if Daemon or the others have ever said my dad’s club name out loud around the bunnies, so I don’t know if that’s common knowledge or not. Glancing over at Daemon, he gives a slight shake of his head, letting me know that it wasn’t.

I tilt my head, observing her, as I slowly walk toward her. “What makes you think I’m tied to the Chrome Vipers?”

Sunny’s face pales, realizing she just fucked up but then the look is gone as she straightens her spine and waves me off. “I heard one of the guys talking about them a while ago and put two and two together when you said you grew up in the same club as him.”

Daemon circles around her from behind and I suppress a grin when I see her hands start trembling at the dark, cold look he gives her.

“See, that’s where you’re wrong, Sunny. I never said which club I came from and that club name has always stayed behind closed doors because it is club business,” Daemon says as he circles her again and the bitch is stupid enough to turn with him as she keeps him in her sights. It’s not the first time Daemon and I have done this song and dance before to get information out of someone, and I know it won’t be the last.

When Sunny turns away from me, I make my move, stepping forward to grasp her wrists and yanking them behind her back. I kick the back of her knees, making her fall to her knees. Ignoring her cries, I grab a fistful of her hair, yanking her head back at a painful angle.
