I face-palmed myself.
“But Asher said—”
“And that’s your first mistake. Listening to Asher. D, it was a celebratory college party. Unless the drink is sealed, it’s going to be mixed with alcohol.”
Oh crap… That makes so much more sense. I chewed my bottom lip, thinking of how to explain this to the guys. I don’t think they’ll be very happy with me being irresponsible.
After our conversation, our call ended, and I headed upstairs to grab my yoga mat. I needed to release some tension, and withcheer season being over, it was up to me to continue staying fit and flexible.
After setting everything up in the living room, I started easy with the lotus pose. I tried my best not to think about anything, but it was extremely difficult knowing that I’d be in trouble for drinking.
Not to mention, a lot of people probably saw Kaden that night, and they might have recognized him since he’s visited Chase and Logan on campus before.
I could feel my heart rate picking up in fear at the thought of everyone finding out. What would happen? How would it all go down— No.
I tried taking a calming deep breath in before slowly exhaling.
I changed into the downward dog position, taking a deep breath in as I stretched as far as possible.
Footsteps approached the living room, and when I looked down—between my legs— I watched Chase enter, slowly rolling up the sleeves of his white dress shirt to his elbows.
His steps came to an immediate halt in the doorway, and innocently, I smiled at him. I watched his head slightly tilt to the right as he stared at me before he continued inside.
“Well, good afternoon to you too,” I mumbled, lowering myself into a side split before reaching forward to touch my toes.
His reply was emotionless. “Good afternoon, Dakota.”
He found himself on the couch, opening his laptop and grabbing some of his scripts along with his red pen.
I lifted my head, sitting upright, and he seemed enticed by his work, so much so that he didn’t spare me a glance. Not once.
I sighed, resting my hands on my hips. “You’re still mad about the game?”
He simply shook his head, eyes glued to the script in front of him. “No.”
I watched his red pen scribble along the page, and I got up, walking over.
“Chase.”
“Do you need me to leave and give you some privacy?”
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, so I slowly dropped down to my knees in front of him, reaching for his hand.
“I don’t need privacy. I need you to not be upset with me.”
He opened his mouth to speak, decided against it and sighed instead. I nodded and stepped back. “Want to join me in the shower then?” I asked, pulling my sports bra over my head, and when his eyes landed on my bare chest, his fingers curled into a tight fist.
“No, Dakota.”
I simply shrugged, pulling my tights down my legs before stepping out of them. “Okay,” I said, noticing the temptation explode in his eyes before I whipped around, heading upstairs.
After my shower, I made an effort to only slip on my silk robe. I purposefully didn’t tie it tight enough so that more of my cleavage was exposed, as well as my stomach.
I headed downstairs and plopped down a great distance from him as I turned my show back on. Thankfully, the noise wasn’t a distraction for him, so he could focus on his work regardless.
What threw me off was the fact that he didn’t touch me or kiss me once today. Not to mention, I was half naked, and he didn’t even bat an eye.He and Logan wouldn’t have been home the night of the party, so does that mean Kaden already told them?
I cast him a million side glances but nothing. He seemed uninterested and way too focused on his work. Well, a teeny tiny bit more than usual.
