Firmly, I held her hands to her side. I was growing impatient. “Let’s get you home.”

“No wait!” she shrieked, whipping around to face me—eyes glistening in excitement. “This is my song!”

My face twisted in disgust. The song playing pained my ears, so I couldn’t understand why she liked it.

I simply shook my head. “No, it’s not.”

Grabbing the back of her thighs, I lifted and tossed her onto my shoulder before heading straight for the door.

“Bye Asher!” she screamed, making me groan in frustration. She seemed too cheerful in his presence. I didn’t like it.

As soon as I helped her into the passenger seat of my car, her head rolled back against the headrest before her eyes fluttered closed.

“You’re weirdly protective for someone who claims to hate me,” she mumbled before I was able to shut the door.I don’t hate you.

I stared at her. Stared at how beautiful she was. Acknowledging the fact that every fiber of my being was drawn to her in the worst way possible. We were treading on dangerous grounds with her, but fuck if I cared.

Dakota was ours.Mine. And I’d be damned if that changed because she was Logan’sstudent. She was a consenting adult. And if right here, with the three of us, is where she wanted to be, then I would have no problem going head to head with whoever the fuck I needed to, because no one was taking her from me.No one.

I ran a frustrated hand down my mouth and shut the door. Rounding the hood of my car, I slipped into the driver’s side, seeing her reach for the radio. I hadn’t noticed that she turned itup to max volume until saxophones nearly burst my eardrums.Jesus fucking Christ.

Innocently, she smiled over at me and rested her soft hand on my nape.

She cleared her throat. “Tonight, the music—“

“No,” I turned the radio off, putting the car in gear before driving off.

“Oh, come on,” she whined beside me and turned the song back on.

Suddenly she was screaming the lyrics ofCareless Whisperby George Michael, serenadingme as her hands cupped my face, then my shoulder and God, she was a horrible singer. “You don’t like the song?” she yelled over the music, but I could only offer a short lived glare. “You won’t go deaf from a three minute song,Grandpa.”

Paying her no mind and solely focusing on not punishing her right here and now, I let my hands grip the steering wheel eerily tight.

When her hand slipped to the inside of my thigh, my confused gaze flickered to her.

“Move your hand,” I commanded, but her intoxicated state wasn’t as obedient as her sober state. I kept my eyes on the road but she was quick to slip her hand down my pants.

Her strokes were gentle at first—making my heart slam against my ribcage—and when my eyes landed on her, a dark lust grew behind her eyes. Her heated gaze lowered to my lap, and I watched her teeth subtly sink into her bottom lip. I didn’t miss the uncomfortable shift in her seat before her thighs squeezed together.

As soon as I stopped at a red light, she leaned forward but I gripped the nape of her neck, stopping her. “You’re drunk.”

“So?” she hiccuped, staring up at me with wide eyes—glistening in innocence.Fuck, my baby was gorgeous.

“Sit back and close your eyes.”

A protesting pout found her lips, and I didn’t miss the argument she tried to put together in her head but ultimately failed.

“Canyoutouchmethen?” she leaned in, placing slow kisses in the crease of my neck, and my traitorous dick hardened in her palm.

She must’ve noticed, because I could feel her smiling as she stroked me faster, brushing her thumb over my leaking tip. It was as though her soft touch alone could pull a mind blowing orgasm out of me.Goddammit, Dakota.

Fighting every urge growing inside of me, I gripped her wrist and pulled her hand off of me. She moved back, knowing better.

I watched her sink back into her seat, resting her head against the headrest.

She slipped in and out of consciousness, and even though I was thankful she was almost asleep, my dick was still painfully aware that she wouldn’t be finishing what she started.

The drive back home was silent, and when I reached over to unbuckle her seat belt, she grinned up at me.
