My words were breathless. “Thank you.”
I dropped my eyes to his lips but before my mind could wander, I changed the subject.
“Don’t tell me you cook in silence?” I asked, trailing my eyes around the room.
I smiled, seeing a radio in the distance so I immediately approached it. “Let’s have a look, shall we?” I mischievously said. A devious grin spread across my lips as I turned up the volume to CeeLo Green’s—I Want You.
I glanced over at Chase and a smile spread across his lips, before he shook his head.
“Oh, come on,” I sighed, slowly walking toward him but he simply crossed his arms over his chest. “You don’t dance?”
“No.”
“No rhythm? Two left feet?” I mused, playfully wiggling my shoulders as I stopped in front of him.
He slipped a hand around my waist, pulling my body to his. I was taken by surprise and lifted both my hands to rest them against his firm chest.
“Time and place.”
My brows drew to a frown. “My mom always dances while cooking. And I believe that there’s nothing wrong with that. I think it even makes the food taste better.”
He grinned, his eyes lingering on my lips. “Yeah?”
I smiled, lifting my arms to wrap them around his neck, holding him closer and tighter.
All three men were handsome, and each of them stirred different, and dangerously powerful emotions inside of me. But Chase… Chase felt different. He was strict yet came with a soothing gentleness that I craved. I felt enslaved to his praise, but his disappointment would inevitably destroy me.
With one hand on the low of my back, his free hand lifted to hold the side of my face. I could feel my temperature rising so I shifted my eyes to the stove.
“It smells delicious. Do you cook often?”
He simply nodded. “Yes. I don’t trust Logan or Kaden.AndI’m the better cook.”
I chuckled, feeling his arm around me tighten.
“Don’t believe everything he says.”
I whipped around—turning my back to Chase—and watched Kaden enter the kitchen. “Red or white wine?” he asked, looking over at Chase.
“Red,” Chase and I said in unison and both of their eyes fell on me.
“You can never go wrong with a good bottle ofChâteau Pétrus, orScreaming Eagle.”
Chase was puzzled. “How do you—”
“Legal age in Bulgaria is eighteen,” Logan chimed in, entering as well and Chase shifted his eyes to Logan who crossed his arms over his chest. Logan’s tone was teasing, and when his amusement filled eyes met mine, I couldn’t help but smile.
Chase dropped his eyes down to me and innocently, I smiled.
“You’re not in Bulgaria right now.”
My smile immediately dropped and Chase leaned down to kiss my forehead. “Logan will show you thenonalcoholicbeverage options.”
Logan nodded—signaling for me to come with him.
“Even though I’m already—”
“Yes,” Chase said before I protest that I was of legal age.
