Glassy eyes look up at me as she reaches to touch my face. “I love you so much, Flynn.”

I’ve never asked for a review before, but suddenly I’m nervous. “Was, was it good for you?”

“Five stars. Would highly recommend.” She grins. Then asks, “Can we do that again?”

I give an exaggerated glance toward the mega box of condoms. “There’s one hundred and forty-three left in there.”

She laughs, and even though my dick’s deflated, the way her body jostles mine is enough to make it twitch. “That will do for a start.”

“Woman, you’re going to kill me.”

“But what a way to go.”

She clenches her muscles again, and my dick responds. Fuck, that’s a first, I’ve never got hard again so soon. The wise part of my brain reminds me I’ve got to pull out and change the condom.

I’ve never wanted kids before, but some primate instinct tells me I’d love to see her belly swelling with my child. But she’s so young, and so am I. We’ve got a whole lifetime in front of us, and serious decisions need to be made together. I’ve sworn to protect her, and that means in everything.

“Hold that thought,” I tell her. “Got to get a new condom.”

She groans as I hold on to the base of the latex and ease my cock out of her, then after removing it I tie it off. Instead of throwing it on the floor for the prospects to tidy up in the morning, the new me walks into the bathroom and flushes it down the toilet. As I flush, an idea comes to me.Would there ever be a better time than now?

Returning to the bedroom, I open the nightstand drawer and surreptitiously remove the box I’d hidden there.

It’s irked me I can no longer call her my wife, Ames Ellington is legally dead and buried. And that day when we tied the knot it was cold, emotionless, and something neither of us had wanted. Now I’ve got a chance to do things properly.

Well, as proper as it can be with me naked as the day I was born with my dick swinging in the wind, but still I get down on my knees.

She’s lain back in sated bliss, her eyes closed as she waits for me. I get her attention by clearing my throat.

Propping herself up on one elbow, she sees me kneeling by the side of the bed. “What are you…?”

“Jayne Rushton,” I start. “I never expected to find you. Never expected anyone would love me. And never dreamed that I’d be able to love someone as I do you. I married a woman called Ames Stone without intent and for all the wrong reasons. Now I’ve a chance to do it all over again, and get it right this time. If you say no, I’ll deserve it for all that I put you through, but Jayne Rushton, I’m asking you if you’ll take this step with me, and do me the honour of marrying me?” I bring the box to my front, flick it open and show it to her.

Last time there was no engagement ring, there was no fucking engagement at all. No question, no answer, just a demand, and two unwilling people coerced into signing a license. I’d chosen the ring carefully, as pretty as her, and one that doesn’t whitewash the past, giving us both something to remember. Our journey to here hadn’t all been roses, there were none at all at the start. But it had been Ames Stone that had brought this biker to life, and I never wanted to forget our journey from enemies to falling in love. To reflect that, the ring has a fair sized diamond set in the middle of a ring of amethysts.

She stares at it. She says nothing.

Is it me… or…“I can change it if you don’t like it.”

Suddenly she bursts into life. “I love it, it’s perfect. I love you, Flynn. And it’s yes ten thousand times over.” She holds out her hand, and I slide the ring onto it. It’s the right size. I’d had her old wedding ring which she can no longer wear for obvious reasons to get the correct fit.

Then she launches herself at me. Our kiss seems to go on forever, my dick swells predictably, and there’s only one way to celebrate our engagement.

“Got to be inside you,” I tell her, letting her go so we can get back into bed.

Only…

“Fuck, shit…”

“Flynn?”

I roll over in agony. Kneeling on the soft mattress had been one thing, kneeling on the hard wooden floor with knees not yet healed? Pure fucking hell. But even as agony goes through me, I start to laugh.

“Flynn?” She joins me back on the floor. “Oh fuck, it was too soon, wasn’t it? Do you want me to get some ice for your legs? Or painkillers?”

Trying to stop laughing, I reply, “Just help me back on the bed, Jayne. At least there’s nothing wrong with my dick. Just this time, I think you better be on top.”

She stares, then snorts. And now she’s laughing with me.
