“She’s perfect,” she assured me. “Joanie had lunch brought in and champagne. We had a great time. And it goes without saying that your girl looks gorgeous. You might pass out.” She raised a brow.

“I’m used to the feeling,” I muttered truthfully. She knocked me on my ass on a regular basis.

A knock sounded at the door, with Cole entering a moment later. “You ready?” he asked gruffly. Despite his tough exterior, Cole had as big a heart as his daughter. Over the time I’d known Grace, he’d shown me what having a good father meant. I was grateful to have the example for when the time came.

“Ready,” I agreed, making him chuckle.

He clapped me on the shoulder. “I know you are.” He shook his head, knowing how eager I could be when it came to Grace.

I followed him and Ava out of the room to take my place at the head of the aisle.

Grace had wanted to get married here in Bishop, and though I’d been clear Hawthorne would have been fine by me, she’d been adamant. She wanted to get married at home.

And I’d long since learned, Grace was decisive with unrivaled tenacity. I chose my battles, and where we got married wouldn’t be one of them.

All I’d cared about was that it happened as quickly as possible. I wanted my ring on her finger and to give my queen the name King.

When the procession began, my brothers and the Knights within it, my heart began a steady pound in my chest.

My first sight of Grace caused me to lose my breath as she began the walk toward me, her arm in Cole’s. I was distantly aware that her dress was beautiful. I’d take in every detail later. For now, I couldn’t take my eyes from her face, from her gorgeous eyes lit with love. For me.

How I’d gotten so goddamn lucky, I’d never know.

As Cole put her hand in mine and with it gave the blessing that I’d now be the man to take care of her, I wrapped my hand around hers, knowing I’d live and die to do exactly that.

“Hi,” she murmured, grinning up at me, her eyes shining with unshed tears.

“Hi, ladybug. You ready?” I quirked a brow.

“Ready.” She nodded.

And with that, we began our lives together, and what was sure to be one hell of a ride.
