Deltta started to move inside him.
Oh shit.
He gripped the bed as another orgasm started to build.
“I love you,” Mac moaned.
"I love you more," Deltta said.
I’ll love you for the rest of my life, Mac vowed.
Epilogue
“Stop looking over at your brother. He’s happy,” Tarymn said.
Maxus did exactly that; he looked over at Deltta. He stood in the middle of the who’s who of the planet. They came out in droves to pay their respect to the alpha king. Even though it was his second inauguration, he still looked happy with his omega by his side. He chose well, Maxus thought.
“I could say the same about you,” he told Tarymn, pointedly staring at his twin brother on the other side of the room. The alpha stood awkwardly next to Mac’s friend, Jamue.
Tarymn grimaced.
“Sorry.”
“No. Don’t apologize. I should take my own advice.”
“I guess we should both do that.” Maxus took a sip of his drink, looking around the room. His eyes fell on the band the council had hired. Gravel. Their music was haunting and deep. And their lead singer was sexy as fuck.
“I see you found something to look at,” Tarymn commented.
“I guess I have.” Maxus looked away from the omega and gave the alpha his full attention. “How about you? Have you found anything that’ll take your eyes off your brother?”
Tarymn took a second to answer him. “Of course, I have to find out who sent those bastards after your brother.”
Maxus sighed. “Okay, I’ll play. I thought it was obvious. Pharyi sent them.”
“No. Pharyi isn’t in a position to talk to anyone. He was assassinated the same day the alphas attacked Deltta.”
“What? Why don't I know about this?”
“You know the rules. The detention center doesn’t release any information about its inmates, even if they die.”
“How do you know he's dead?”
“Hym found out.”
“What? Why didn’t you tell Deltta?”
“Your brother is happy for the first time in five years. I didn’t want to bother him with this.”
He was right. Deltta needed some normal in his life, and Mac gave him that. He should be allowed to enjoy it for a little while.
“Do you think whoever it is will come after him again?”
“We have to make sure that they don’t?” Tarymn said. “I guess you found something to focus on after all."
"Yeah," Maxus sighed. "But I need to blow some steam first.” He drank down his drink and made his way through the crowd, his eyes on one gorgeous omega.
