“Of course, brother.” And the viewscreen cut back to the view of space.

“Khaazai, it won’t be good for the alliance if something happens to Holly.” Zahra worried. Even though the Earth Alliance wouldn’t have the resources to care too much at this time, she still worried about being ordered back to Earth space. And she didn’t want to leave Khaazai. Not yet. Not when they had so much more to explore.

“Be calm, Zahra.” Khaazai rubbed a hand over her back. “Everything will be fine. I’m certain my sister will find Holly before we get back to the home world.”

“We shouldn’t have left Holly. She was scared of something back at the emperor’s palace. Maybe a Khuuz’eth took an interest in her and came for her after we left.” Zahra wondered aloud.

“If they did, they will face multiple offenses.” Khaazai promised darkly. “But try not to let your mind run away with you until we get back.”

“Agreed.” Zahra smiled up at him. “Get back, find Holly, and see where this goes.”

“Exactly.” He dipped his forehead to hers.
