My eyes widen for a second, hesitant, as I slip my phone into my back pocket. Glancing over at Kyla standing next to me, she grins, nodding her head toward Brix, encouraging me to go.
Brix’s eyes light up, watching me as I walk toward him. I’m careful as I do, my legs feeling wobbly, with the spike of nervous energy rushing through me.
When I get closer to him, he reaches his hand out toward me as I slip my fingers in his.
“Guys, this is my girl, Ivy. Isn’t she fuckin’ beautiful?”
The crowd screams around me as I laugh nervously, finally looking out at them once again before my eyes lock on his.
“Yeah, I know. She’s mine, though, so, men, you can back the fuck off.”
Shaking my head at him, I playfully roll my eyes as he flashes me a wink.
“Ivy, I want to say thank you in front of our friends and all these people for loving me as much as you do. For helping me to see the good in me, for making me want to be a better man for you, and for making me the happiest I’ve ever been.”
Pulling me close to him, he presses a hard kiss against my lips, before taking a step back from me once again. The moment the connection is severed, I feel the loss of him immediately.
He reaches his hand into his pocket before he kneels on one knee, holding out a diamond ring. This ring is not your typical diamond ring. It’s the most stunning thing I’ve ever seen, and with the bright lights shining over us, I can’t hold back the tears that fill my eyes before looking up at Brix.
“Marry me. Give me the future we talked about having together.”
I don’t even try to hold back the tears at that point. Nodding my head, I say yes without a single hesitation. I know with everything in me, I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I hold my hands out to him, wrapping my arms around his neck as his circle my waist holding me close to him.
“I love you, baby,” he whispers in my ear, pulling back to kiss me once again. The cheers and screams from the audience fade into the distance as I kiss him with everything in me.
“I love you, too.”
When he finally lets me go, he yells into the mic, “Hell fuckin’ yeah! She said YES!”
Realizing he’s still holding the ring, he grabs my hand and slides the beautiful diamond ring on my finger.
“It’s beautiful,” I murmur, reaching up to try and swipe at the tears still streaming down my face.
Brix kisses me again, telling me he’s going to give them one last song before he comes off stage.
Kyla is a bouncing ball of energy standing on the side of the stage, as she folds me into a hug, telling me congratulations. I’m still in shock, tremors racing through me as I hold my hand out in front of me, glancing between my ring and on stage to Brix. The joy and excitement on his face as he sings makes me think of all that’s yet to come in our future.
And I can’t wait to go through life, every day, with him by my side.
