She winked at me. "It's holy water."
Fucking bitch.
Holy water was a toxin for demons. A paralytic. Numbness spread through me, and I lost control of my body from my neck down, falling forward into Viktor's vicious claws. I was at his mercy.
The same claws that tore into Blaise’s chest sliced into my shoulders as he grabbed me and bent his head down toward my chest where my outfit had ripped. My muscles twitched, desperately trying to regain control, but the holy water was too strong.
This is going to hurt.
He sunk his impossibly sharp teeth into the exposed flesh, and I screamed as my head fell back to stare at the ceiling. The scream that tore from my throat was worse than anything I'd ever done before. My voice box shredded from the frequency, and more hot tears poured out.
His sharp, lengthy teeth scratched against my sternum as he sucked the blood from my body. Hot stabs lanced through my chest, spreading out to my limbs in a wild spasm of pain.
"Lilith! No!"
"Don't you die on us! We can’t lose you too!"
“Please, my beloved, fuck. Not again!”
The guys pleaded, screamed, and fought their way toward us. More abandoned appeared, just as they'd killed the final one. Carmilla stood there with a twisted smile on her perfect face as Viktor tore into me. The guys wouldn't make it in time. Carmilla had some sort of fucking control over the abandoned, and there were so many. How had Hell missed so many damned souls crossing the gate to the living realm?
We were too late to save the new-bloods or the humans, and now, Viktor would have all the power he needed to overthrow Hell, all because of me.
Blaise and I were already dead. I couldn’t fight back because of that fucking bitch, Carmilla. All I could do is hope the rest of the guys could save themselves and obliterate Viktor before it was too late.
Fear crawled up my throat as I realized this was it for me...again. After Gabriel killed me, I didn’t remember my afterlife. Demons had souls, but for some reason, they differed from other supernatural souls. Usually, depending on the demon, when we died, our souls would go to the heart of Hell to add to the energy needed to pump the damned blood through Hell and keep it alive.
I wasn’t sure if that was what happened to my soul, though. I had no recollection of my afterlife. My memories began when King Zelek created me, paused when I was killed, and picked back up during my early human childhood. I hated the unknown more than anything, but that fear slowly faded along with everything else.
A happy ending wasn't in the cards for me, after all.
I love each fucking one of you. I’m so sorry.
Little black dots invaded my vision, and the panicked voices of the guys streamed together. The numbness in my limbs spread to my mind as the uproar of bodies clashing against each other and bellows of the abandoned dulled. Sinister darkness fogged my soul, and my consciousness whirled into a void of oblivion.
