“Does everyone have their Valentine’s Day cards ready to hand out to their classmates?” I ask Benny and Kyler, our twin five-year-olds.
“Right here. In our backpacks.” Both Kyler and Benny spin around, showing me their backpacks.
“Good, because mommy and daddy need some alone time for Valentine’s Day.” I put my arms around Ruby and whisper in her ear.
“Hurry up, kids.” She leans back into my arms. “Mommy needs Daddy really bad,” she whispers.
“I hope there’s never a time that you don’t need me, wife.”
“I will always need you, husband.”
