“Any minute,” I reply, throwing a glare to Bast who narrows his eyes at me but then blows out a breath and admits defeat.
“You’re stunning, Little Red,” Bast tells Hope, “But I have something for you too.”
She cocks her head, “What is it?”
“Well come here, and find out,” Bast tells her.
She gives me a wary glance but crosses over to her dad who pulls a small flat box from inside his jacket and opens it for her to see.
I look too, since I had no idea he’d bought her a gift, and instantly well up when I see the stunning silver bracelet waiting for her.
“This is the one I saw the other day,” Hope whispers.
“It’s your birthday soon,” Bast says, “This is an early present, I wanted you to have it for the dance.”
As Bast starts to put it on her, the buzzer for the gate sounds through the house, notifying us of Malakai and Olivia’s car pulling up the drive. I open the front door before they can even get out of the car and meet Olivia’s eyes.
She’s as nervous as I am... These are our babies, all grown up and going to their first dance together. Wyatt climbs out of the car after his father.
“Dashing as always,” I tease him and his cheeks bloom with color, making me laugh.
I feel Bast come up behind me, wrapping his arm around my middle as we both watch Hope take thesteps down and hug Wyatt, Olivia and Malakai joining us on the porch. Dennis, Malakai’s personal driver is taking the two of them to the dance and pulls in behind Malakai’s car.
Hope waves goodbye before Wyatt opens the back door for her and she climbs inside, his body following behind and then we’re all watching as the car pulls away, taking the two of them to the dance.
They’re both incredibly sheltered from Sebastian’s and Malakai’s life, but we all know it’s only a matter of time before they find out. They’ll have a choice of course, though my preference would be for them to stay far, far away from it and all the dangers that come with it.
“He better have her home before curfew,” I hear Sebastian grumble to Malakai and I look around to see Malakai grimace, actuallygrimace at his words.
But Oli just shakes her head, links her arm with mine and walks us both back into the house.
Sebastian’s arms come around mine as I wash the last traces of makeup from my face and meet his eyes in the mirror. He still takes my breath away, even now with the speckled grey in his hair and light lines around his eyes.
“We’re alone, Mrs. Levine.” He purrs, pressing a kiss to the side of my neck. I tilt my head to give him better access and suck in a breath when he pushes his hand under the cami I’m wearing, settling his palmover my breast.
His cock presses into me from behind hard, and a moan slips from my lips.
This is us.
I’ve spent the last sixteen years as this man’s wife and have never known a day without his love. He proves to me every day how much he adores me. Even when we fight, and there have been plenty over the years, I never go to bed without him showing me how much he is devoted to me, to our family.
I never thought I could be happier than when we got married and had our daughter, but it only grows with every year.
“I love you,” He whispers against my neck.
I reach behind me and thread my fingers into his hair, “Are you going to kiss me or not?” I quirk a brow at him in the mirror.
He grins, “Always, Red.”
