I nodded at Parker, folding my fingers in with hers and running my thumb over her engagement ring. “Everything’s perfect.”
She smiled sweetly, her hand still in mine as shewent back to discussing wedding details with Oakley on her other side. Coincidentally, Lennon had proposed to Oakley on the same day I’d proposed to Parker, so the two of them were having a ball planning together.
My other siblings were on their own paths, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Bailey and Lettie had disappeared into the barn half an hour ago, like they frequently did. Reed and Brandy had made a mess of the kitchen while shucking and prepping the corn, their teasing having gone a bit too far. But that was what made our family so perfect.
We each had our quirks. Dealt with the things we went through. But we still showed up for each other in the end, whether that be for weekly dinners or when someone had a flat tire on the highway.
Maybe our paths to get here weren’t the most ideal, but we got our happily ever afters.
And as we sat on that porch after the sun had gone down and watched Bailey light the craziest fireworks I’d ever laid eyes on, I knew one thing for certain.
I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
The End
