"Jack."
Raising a hand, he pressed two fingers to her lips. "Let me. I know you don't need it, or expect it, but, Lys, I want to give you everything you ever wanted and more." She'd given up so much for him. He wanted—no, needed—to show his appreciation.
She laughed, the sound vibrating against his fingertips. "With all your money, you could probably get me the moon."
He smiled, dipped his head, and ran the tip of his nose along the length of hers while he trailed his fingers down over her chin and along the line of her jaw until he cradled her face in his palm. "You want it?"
"No." Lys slid her arms around his waist and moved in, brushing the front of her body on his. "I just want you."
"You have me." She did. She had all of him. His body, his heart, his soul, every cent in his multiple bank accounts, everything he owned. "Everything I have is yours."
"I don't care about all the other stuff." Pushing up on her toes, she pressed her lips to his. “I. Just. Want. You." She punctuated each word with a kiss.
Repeating himself might be redundant but he did it anyway. "You have me."
Then he did something that had her gasping and taking a half-step back. "Jack."
Down on one knee, ring in the palm of his hand, he looked up. "This might seem pointless considering we're already married but I didn't give you this before, and like I said, I want to give you everything. Alyssa Drummond Townsend, would you do me the honor of marrying me? Again?"
"Jack, you don't—"
"I know I don'thaveto do this. Iwantto."
Her glassy eyes held his and her lips stretched into a beautiful smile he'd remember for the rest of his life. "Yes. Yes, I'll marry you. Again."
He slipped the eternity ring that matched her wedding set onto her finger and snugged it against the two already there. "This time I want all our friends to attend the ceremony."
Her gaze snapped up from where she'd been admiring the gold and diamond band and met his. "Wait. What? Youactuallywant to get married again?"
"Yes. I want everyone to watch as I say the words I meant the first time."
"You." A single tear dripped off her lashes and slid down her cheek. "You didn't marry me because of Penny."
"I did, but she wasn't the only or main reason." He rose to his full height and pulled her into his arms. "I loved you from the moment I first saw you. I spent months, years, trying to make you see I'm yours, you're mine, and while I got a ring on your finger six months ago, this time I want our family, the people in our lives to witness the happiness that we've found, the love we have together."
"Please tell me we aren't doing the tunnel of love with Elvis again."
Laughing, he picked her up and spun around. "We'll do whatever you want. I don't care if we're in the back of a car with Elvis singing to us. I told you before, it's not where or how I say ‘I do’ that's important. It's the person saying it with me."
