“Too tired to move,” Grace said.

“Let’s just sleep like this,” I mumbled into the bed.

Grace giggled and said, “Or we could get naked and have hot sweaty sex.”

Turning over onto my side, I stared at her. “How can you even think about sex? It’s damn near four am. I don’t even think my dick wants to wake up.”

Giving me a sexy smile, Grace moved her hands into my pants and stroked me. The bastard came up and quickly started to throb.

Licking her lips, Grace sat up and pulled her shirt over her head and stripped out of her skirt and panties.

“Looks like your oversized load is ready to unload again.”

I’d never taken my clothes off that fast before in my life.

The rest of the night, or what was left of it, was spent tangled up with Grace.

I was positive I’d never be able to bring in a new year like this one ever again.

Placing my lips on the top of Grace’s head, I kissed her gently as she slept peacefully wrapped in my arms.

Moving my hand down, I rested it on Grace’s stomach as a smile grew across my face.

It had been a long road traveled . . . but it was worth every twist and turn we had to face. As long as Grace and I were together, we’d never be lost again.

My eyes grew heavy as I finally gave in and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of a little girl with bouncy brown curls being chased by a dark-haired little boy with a giant toad in his hands.

Life didn’t get any better.

Meagan

Walking toward my rental car, I glanced over and saw Grayson leaning against a car, talking to one of the girls he met tonight.

Ugh. Man-whore.

Pulling my eyes off of Grayson, I focused on getting to the car and heading back to my parents’ house. I made it thro

ugh the holidays intact. All I needed to do was get back to Colorado, immerse myself in my job, and push everything else away.

“Meg?”

Closing my eyes, I sped up and tried to pretend like I didn’t hear Grayson call out to me.

“Meg! Stop!”

Shit. Keep walking, Meagan.

Reaching for the handle on the car, I went to pull it open when I felt Grayson pull on my arm. Turning me to face him, I prepared myself.

Cue the cold black heart.

Looking up at Grayson’s smile, I ignored how it made me feel. “Meg, before you leave, I was wondering if we might be able to talk?”

My eyes glanced quickly back over to the girl who was sitting in her car now, but watching every move Grayson made.

Not looking directly at Grayson, I asked, “What in the world would we possibly have to talk about at three in the morning, Gray?”

Focusing on his earlobe, I waited for his response. His hand lifted as he rubbed a piece of my hair through his fingers. I had died my hair brown three months ago and Grayson had made it clear to me he loved the new color. A lot. “What’s the matter, Meg? You can’t even look me in the eye when you talk to me?”
