My breath catches. “Wes?—”

He lunges before I get the words out. His hand closes around my arm and he yanks. Suddenly I’m ripped from the comfort of my men and being pulled toward the door.

“This is over. You’re coming with me.”

“Wes!” I say, stumbling as my foot catches on the rug. I lose my balance and bump my knee against the side of the coffee table. The pain barely registers though. All I can focus on is the fury in Wes’s voice and the fact that everyone else in the room is standing there shell-shocked.

All of a sudden Reid is in motion, crossing the room with a look that could slice through concrete. His hand slams into Wes’s shoulder.

“Let her go, Wes.”

Wes jerks around. “She’s my sister.”

“And I told you to take your fucking hands off her.”

When Wes doesn’t release the grip he has on me, Reid surges forward into Wes and the two of them hit the wall with a sound that rattles the windows. A framed print clatters to the ground, glass shattering on impact.

Thank god Wes let go of me just before Reid made contact.

I shout their names, but they’re screaming at each other and aren’t paying any attention to me. Miles is between them in an instant, arms locking around Reid’s chest. Jude is now glued to my side, shielding me from these lunatics with his whole body.

Reid tries to go for Wes again, but Miles knocks his hand down and shoves him back with a solid push to the chest. Then Wes is lunging forward. Miles twists and catches him, locking an arm around his ribs.

“Get off me!” Wes shouts, trying to tear free.

“Enough!” Miles snaps. “Both of you.”

Wes is breathing hard, face flushed with rage. “You don’t get to do this. You don’t get to move her in and pretend this is normal.”

“She’s not a possession,” Miles says. “She doesn’t belong to you or to any of us, for that matter.”

“She’s not thinking straight!”

I choke on a breath. “Excuse me?”

He twists toward me, still pinned by Miles. “This is insane. You’re wrapped up in whatever the hell this is because you’re having trouble with your roommates and your business isn’t doing well. So you—what? Decided to hook up with these three to make it all better?”

It feels like Wes just slapped me in the face.

Jude stiffens behind me. Reid lunges again with a feral look in his eyes. Miles shoves at his chest with the arm not wrapped around my brother.

“You don’t get to talk to her like that,” Jude growls.

“She’s ruining her fucking life!” Wes retorts.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about, Wes,” I shoot back.

“You think this is how adults behave?” Wes spits. “You’re going to play house with three guys who have no idea how to be in a relationship?”

“Shut the fuck up,” Reid growls.

But Wes isn’t done. His eyes lock on mine. “This is pathetic, Lola.”

My hands shake.

“This is fucking ridiculous,” he says. “All of it.”

He shrugs off Miles’s arm and storms toward the door. “I want nothing to do with any of this.”
