“What the fuck are you doing here?” He whisper yelled. “You want to get yourself killed?”

“No one knows it’s me.” I looked up and down the street. I turned back to Mase as he scanned the courtyard of the compound. “Don’t worry. I’m not looking for an invitation in.”

“Why the fuck are you here?”

Well damn, I thought he’d at least be a little excited to see me.

“I wanted to ask you out on a date.” The butterflies all passed out and bottomed out in my gut. My voice came out sounding so childish and soft.

“A date.” I could picture the confusion on his face.

“Yeah.” I cleared my throat. “Meet me at the Steakhouse in National Harbor. Okay?”

“Grace.” He growled.

“Be there okay. And, Mase,” I giggled. “Wear something sexy.”

I could see the smirk on his face from here.
