Tessa gives me a flat stare. “You guys were a mess in the months leading up to this day.”
“So Tessa, are you saying that your life is better because you’re not in a relationship?” Tyler asks.
“Not better, just less complicated.”
“Tessa’s in a relationship with her job,” Brooke laughs, but I catch her eyes as they follow Ben and Jen on the dance floor.
“I’ll tell you who has the mostadultrelationship out of all of us,” Matt says. He turns his head to my dad and Anna Mae on the dance floor. “Good ole’ Dad has it all figured out.”
I smile as I watch him. “Yeah, I think you’re right. We all could take a page from his book.”
Tyler stands and holds his hand out to me. “Do you want to dance?”
“Now?” I lift my brows. “We just barely sat down.”
“Yes, I’m taking a page out of your dad’s book. And besides, aren’t they playing our song?”
“Take My Breath Awayis your song?” Tessa laughs, rolling her eyes. “You two were made for each other.”
“I think we were.” I smile as I let Tyler help me stand. “Let’s dance.”
Tyler Dixon is the happy ending that I’ve been dreaming of, but the coolest part is that it’s not the end.
It’s the beginning.
