“Yes. Definitely yes.”
That’s the end of our conversation for a long while as I make sure my husband understands how much I love and appreciate what he tried to do for me.
It isn’t until we’re lying in bed much later that I shed a tear for the brother I lost amid finding the love I’ll have forever.

Due to the severity of fuel prices and airlines reacting by increasing everything from seat costs, bag fees, and seat selection, it’s almost cheaper to charter a private jet.
Almost.

December
We’re leaving to visit Brendan and Danidown in Nashville for the holidays. Sula refused to let me make any of the travel arrangements. “Arek, don’t be ridiculous. I know where we’re going.”
“Is this like our trip to Maine where I didn’t tell you anything until we were in the state?”
Laughing, Sula pulled me down until I had to brace myself against the arms of her chair. Her suite of rooms is always kept open these days unless she’s on a particularly confidential call. “Maybe,” she singsonged the word.
With a resigned sigh, I dropped to my knees and jerk her chair forward.
Her eyes grew dreamy. “What are you doing?”
Running my finger up between her legs over the seam that rested perfectly on her clit, I gave her an arrogant look. “Plan on stopping me?”
She wiggled her leggings over her ass. “Not in the least. Give it your best shot.”
I can feel the heat of that memory sear through my veins. I sure as hell did. I’m still grateful she didn’t have a call right after as she ended up riding my cock shortly after I licked her to her an orgasm. I’m not certain she had the energy to make sound business decisions after since she was just mumbling my name over and over against my neck.
Not that I was complaining.
After we approach the private jet at Teterboro, I begin to understand why Sula wouldn’t let me make the plans. Striding down an actual red carpet, Sula blushes when I tease her about using her celebrity connections to hitch us a ride. “Nothing that complicated, I assure you.”
At the bottom of the stairs, the crew member nods and greets her. “A pleasure to see you again, Ms. Moore.”
“You as well, Harvey.” She holds out a hand. “How is your new grandson?”
“Healthy and happy. All we can ask for.” He smiles at me. “Welcome, Mr. Ronan. Co-captain Harvey Benson.”
I shake the man’s hand. “It’s a pleasure.”
“If you would like to leave your bags, I’ll be happy to carry them up,” he offers.
Sula laughs before giving the man an affectionate arm squeeze. “Harvey, we just got you back from one surgery. We don’t need to send you back to the hospital trying to heft my suitcase.”
He rolls his eyes. “One little game of basketball against your brother and—”
“This is Brendan’s plane?” I interrupt.
Sula bites her lip before nodding. Then she whacks me in the chest before shouting, “Race you!” before darting up the stairs.
I admire her swift gait for a moment before I confide to Harvey, “She’s brilliant.”
“Absolutely, sir.”
“No, I mean because she left me with the bags.”
