Brendan Blake and Danielle Madison announced they are each donating one million dollars to the Send Me an Angel charity based in New York City, run by internationally renowned program manager Ursula “Sula” Moore.

“What Sula is doing is incredible. She’s giving a helping hand to people who are in a precariously vulnerable state,” Brendan Blake said.

Her family should be proud of what she’s doing with the money from her mother’s inheritance.

We certainly are.

“I can’t believe you said those bloody things!Any halfway decent reporter will be able to piece it together,” JB shouts.

I rub at the headache forming behind my eyes, wishing like hell I’d never picked up his call. “Calm down, JB.”

“Calm down? I’m so far from that possibility.”

“Then how about you just lower your voice,” I hiss and put the call on speaker.

JB wisely listens to me. “You don’t get it, Sula. You have nothing riding on this. I have the whole bloody board salivating to vote me out.”

“Is that all you can think of? Money? Do you realize what I did for you last night?”

“Yes. You put the estate at risk!”

“No, what I did was lay my heart out to essentially a complete stranger so you could have a shot at love, you arse.”

“I would have worked things out with Liki,” he dismisses.

“Would you? Do you realize what you’re doing to her is essentially what you’ve been holding over your sister’s head—what you claimed I did to her?” Arek’s fury is tangible as he listens to my brother berate me for choosing love over money—trust over lies.

Forgiveness above all.

“Keep talking to her like this, Basset, and I’ll make certain this call ends sooner than you want it to,” Arek threatens.

“You’ll do what, exactly? Expose us? What will that do except hurt your wife?”

Arek’s eyes narrow. “No, I’ll tell Liza what an ass you really are. After last night she and my wife are close. As she said, you have Sula to thank for fixing your public stupidity in Dubai with her. I’ve known Likitha Hina since she was fourteen years old. She was through with you, done. You obviously care for her to break the vow you owed to your brother and sister.”

A growl works its way up my chest before I spit, “We won’t talk about how pissed off Brendan is.”

JB sucks in a breath. “Heknows?”

I glare at the phone even as I rub my temples. “His wife was standing right there!”

“Christ, Sula. How could you allow—”

Arek reaches over and presses End. He tosses my phone on the chair where it immediately begins buzzing.

Both of us ignore it.

His hands sink into my hair, and he immediately takes over massaging my scalp. “Should I be concerned on Liza’s behalf that JB has more of your father’s personality traits than either you or Brendan?”

I moan as the motions of his fingers trigger a wave of pleasure. “If only that mattered to Heythrop or the board.”

His fingers still. “Who?”

My lips curve. “You likely labeled him as Sheep One. He’s the head of my father’s legal team.”

“Ahh.” Arek immediately resumes his ministrations. “Yes. Him.”
