“There’s more,” he said softly. “Turn the page.”

She did, and it readTo C. K.—Every line is for you.

Tears welled in her eyes, and she clasped the book to her chest. Kieran gazed at her with happy apprehension. “It’s true,” he murmured. “There is no poetry in my life without you, love. There is nothing in my life without you.”

“Oh, Kieran.” She rose up to put her mouth to his, and he cupped her jaw as he kissed her with adoring sensuality. No matter how many kisses they’d shared, each one set her aflame with need and possibility.

“I sent a copy to my parents,” he said when they finally surfaced.

“What if they don’t like it?” The earl and countess had been relatively welcoming to her when she’ddined with them over the course of the last two months, and though things weren’t precisely warm between Kieran and his parents, there was a degree of cordiality. The earl had even invited Kieran to his club with him, which, Kieran had told her later, had never happened before.

“It doesn’t signify.” A corner of his mouth lifted. “Ilike it, and so do you, and that’s all that matters. This isourjourney. Speaking of which...”

He drew her even closer as he spoke in a husky tone. “I have an evening’s jaunt planned. An artist’s salon in Bloomsbury that promises to be quite disreputable. Will Salome be there?”

“She wouldn’t miss it,” Celeste answered, her pulse kicking with anticipation.

Their nocturnal escapades hadn’t stopped since their engagement. She still went out as Salome, and since it would be too scandalous for the engaged Kieran Ransome to be seen in the company of a woman who was, for all intents and purposes, nothis bride-to-be, he also wore a disguise. To her delight, he usually lined his eyes with kohl, just as he’d done at Mr. Longbridge’s party. And when the evening was done, she and Kieran returned to his bed and made love until the sun stole beneath the curtains. They were careful, of course, but it would have been impossible to wait until their planned late autumn wedding.

Every time she and Kieran went out together, exploring the wild and wicked side of London, was as exciting as their first foray. It didn’t matter where they went—the most exhilarating part was being with Kieran. He encouraged her, celebrated her,and together they learned all of the world’s mysteries. And every time in his bed was more pleasurable than the last.

He now cradled her close and kissed her again. “There’s my daring love.”

“I’ll go anywhere with you,” she murmured against his lips. “My wild poet.”

“There are so many blank pages ahead of us,” he said throatily. “We’ll fill them all with our adventures.”
