"What’s the new amendment?" she asks, looking frustrated and annoyed.
"Let’s make an amendment where we just spend some time together. No pressure. I show you my world of passion and lovemaking and just being loose, and you explore the world you want of meeting your soulmate. And then, after a couple of weeks or months or whatever—no pressure for it to be any defined time—you can see what you really want. See if you think you're searching for the impossible or if you like enjoying life and just going with the flow. I don’t know which one it will be, but I’m willing to take this adventure with you."
"Is that your way of saying you want to sleep with me, Tyler Kane?"
"That’s my way of saying I want to have my wicked way with you. But I don’t want you to think or be under any illusion that this is some fairytale in the sky. This is about one thing," I say, lowering my mouth and sucking on her bottom lip.
She moans slightly. I run my fingers down the side of her back.
"Whatever we agree to, whatever we do, it’s casual. It’s just between you and me. We can’t tell your brother because he’d kill me."
"Oh, I wouldn’t tell him," she says. "And maybe all I want is something casual with you. Maybe this will be exactly what I need to figure it all out."
"So, we have a deal?" I say, staring at her, holding my hand out.
"Oh, we have a deal. But that’s not how I seal my deals," she says, winking. "I like to seal them with a kiss."
And before I know it, her lips are on mine again, my tongue is in her mouth, and we’re kissing passionately. I’m squeezing her ass, and it feels so juicy and plump that I know I’m not going to be able to stop. I know that I want Erica, and I don’t care what happens. I’m just going to live in the moment and hope that this doesn’t all blow up in my face.
Chapter Thirteen
Erica
The whole evening feels somewhat surreal. I can't believe I'm here, dancing with Tyler, especially considering I'd just been on my bad date, thinking about him. I wonder if he knew. I wonder if he'd seen what had gone down. I should be embarrassed or mad, but I didn't actually care. I knew as soon as I'd seen my date that it was going to be a bust. And when he'd introduced me to his friends and all the girls had been all over him, I had a feeling he was looking for something more akin to an orgy than a one-on-one romantic rendezvous.
I can feel Tyler behind me, dancing in time to the music. I'm surprised that he's got so much rhythm, but I appreciate it. I can feel his hands on my waist, his fingertips pressing into me. We dance back and forth, and I'm just happy to be here.
I wonder what my brother would say if he could see us, but I'm not going to dwell on that. What Wes doesn't know won't hurt him. Even though I know that if Miles finds out, he would absolutely go crazy. Because even though Wes is the older brother and the more vocal of the two, Miles is definitely more protective of me—probably because he was the middle child and I was the only one that he felt like he could control.
I can hear Tyler humming something under his breath as we continue dancing. I want to touch him. I want to kiss him, yet I still feel slightly uneasy. Maybe because I don't know where this is going. Maybe it's going nowhere. Maybe it's going everywhere. Maybe it doesn't matter. I don't know.
I've never been in a situation like this before. It's always been a date with someone I know, who understands that we're getting to know each other. I've never felt out of my element, and my dates have never really been with someone on the level of Tyler—not as handsome, not as rich, not as well-known. Not even as old as him. Not that he is much older than me, but I've mainly dated guys who are my age.
"You are absolutely stunning. You know that?" he says, spinning me around and gazing at me.
"I know that now," I say, giving him a shy smile, hoping he'll lean down and kiss me.
His eyes are dark, and I can feel a real tension between us. But I don't want to have to be the one to force it right now. I don't want to be the one all over him—not again. I want him to make the move.
"What are you thinking?" he asks.
"I don't know. I'm not... I'm just enjoying being here."
"So, how was your date?" he says loudly.
I can't really hear him, so I shake my head. I don't want to talk about my date.
After a couple of moments, we're hit by two girls next to us.
"Sorry," they say, giggling, but they're not talking to me. They're only talking to him.
I'm pleased to see that Tyler doesn't even acknowledge them. I study his face, his dark eyebrows, his dark eyes, his tan skin.
"You are possibly one of the best-looking men I've ever met in my life," I say.
"I bet you say that to all the men." He grins and squeezes my hand.
"You want to come somewhere with me?"
