“Are you going to do it?”

I sighed. “I don’t have much of a choice,” I said. “It’s not exactly a teaching position, but at least I get to work with kids this way.”

“That’s the spirit,” Megan said. “How about we get to work on your profile now?”

I smiled. “Okay.” I nodded.

We found the site in a matter of seconds, and we spent the next two hours setting up my profile. There were ten different questionnaires, and the site required a minimum of five to be filled out before a profile could go public on the forum. There was also a multiple-choice section with fifty questions that was mandatory to complete. Then came a series of questions that required me to sell myself as a good and competent nanny.

Two hours in and my profile looked to be only half complete, and Megan had started to lose interest about an hour ago.

“How about we focus on the really important bits?” she suggested.

“Like what?”

“The profile picture,” Megan said. “We need to choose a hot one.”

“Sure, cause that’s what every mother wants: a hot nanny for their kids.”

“How about a picture from my last birthday?” Megan suggested. “You wore that sexy red dress… and you looked amazing.”

I rolled my eyes. “You mean the dress with the plunging neckline that almost went down to my navel?”

“That’s the one.”

I shook my head at her. “I’m not going to put up a profile picture.”

“Why not?”

“Because it’s unimportant,” I said firmly. “I’m planning on filling out every other field that this site requires me to fill. I’ll be detailed and lengthy with my answers. I’ll fill out the damn questionnaires, and I’ll take their random tests. But I’m leaving out the profile picture.”

“Suit yourself,” Megan said, with a sigh. “I think you’ll catch more fish with a picture though.”

I turned my attention back to the screen and took a deep breath. My profile was seventy percent complete. I just had to add my contact details, my education, and complete a few more tests and I would be ready to submit my profile. I was nervous, but I was also ready. Megan was right. I did like a challenge, and I was prepared to see this one through.
