“I saw the trip to Vail and figured it was another girls’ trip with Emma. But there was a separate charge for some singles’ retreat package, and I had to follow you. We spent too much time apart, and I refused to lose you for good.”
She leans into me. “You mean to tell me youplannedto find me there? Did Emma or Miles know?”
“No. Miles wanted me to go out more. I made a bet with him that I knew I would lose so we’d end up at the singles’ retreat.”
She nods. “He wanted you to get over me.”
“I flew from Japan to Colorado with every intention to get you back.”
Justice takes another second to process everything. When she looks up, her eyes are wet. “I…I don’t know what to say.”
I wipe her tears. We kiss, and I rest my forehead on hers. “Did I tell you I love you today?”
She lets out a giggle and looks up. “No.”
“It’s true.”
