The deck outback was set up on stilts and was about thirty feet above ground level, giving the cabin an exceptional view of the woods surrounding it. I always enjoyed coming here with my Brothers during hunting season, and being here with Kayla now, who was busy cooking in the kitchen, lent a homey vibe I didn’t realize I craved so much until this very moment.

Just the thought of being here with the beautiful woman made my dick stand up at attention. It was all I could do not to strip her bare, bend her over this railing, and fuck her raw until she shouted my name and came all over my pounding cock.

I knew it was only a matter of time before that happened. We couldn’t be alone together and be expected to keep our hands to ourselves. Our short time together had proven as much. Right or wrong, our hooking up was an inevitability. One I looked forward to more than I cared to admit.

My phone rang then and I saw it was Pipe calling. Glancing at Kayla through the slider, I noted she was slicing vegetablesand singing along to some song or another I couldn’t quite make out through the glass partition. It was a lovely picture. One that made my chest ache and swell just as much as my balls.

Smiling to myself, I answered the phone. “Pipe, how you doing, Brother?”

“I’m hanging in there. I see that you got to the cabin in one piece,” he noted, obviously getting some kind of alert that had been connected to his phone or PC.

“You spying on me through hidden cameras, you sick fuck?” I jested, though I wouldn’t doubt if he had them strategically placed throughout the cabin.

Pipe chuckled. “Is that your none-too-subtle way of telling me you’re banging this chick, Ox?”

Touché. He got me there. “Nah, I just sleep in the buff and I don’t want you to feel inferior,” I shot back, deflecting his well-made point.

“Sure,” Pipe returned, smart enough to know the truth without having to see the video evidence of it. “Was everything you needed in the cabin?”

Flicking on the gas, I lit the grill and the flame caught. Hovering my hand over the grate to make sure it was heating up evenly, I registered the warmth that kissed my palm and decided it was. “Yeah, the cabin’s exactly how you left it. Everything’s intact. No issues. Thanks for letting me use it for the night. It came in clutch.”

“Of course,” Pipe returned. “Any time. How’s the Ghost situation going? German told me about what happened last night. Sounds like the crazy fucker needs a bullet in his temple, ASAP.”

“You ain’t kidding. I plan on personally delivering his dirt nap the first chance I get,” I said, a growl creeping into my tone. “The man’s a total sociopath. He claims to want Kayla, but thatdidn’t stop him from shooting at the vehicle she was riding in last night without a single thought for her safety.”

“It sounds like he’s more concerned with our Club not getting her than he is on keeping her for himself,” Pipe wisely reflected.

“That about sums it up.” Taking a seat at the table in the corner of the porch, I stared out into the woods. “Any idea when Reaper wants to firebomb their Club? I need something to look forward to.”

Pipe snorted a laugh. “Hawk’s taking point on this one, on account of Reaper being at home with Angel and the baby.”

That made sense. “What’s Hawk’s plan then?”

“You know Hawk. He’ll want to move with absolute precision on anything he decides. From what I gather, he wants to take every one of those bastards down in a calculated move enacted in a single night. That way, there’s no chance of retaliation because everyone involved will be dead.”

“That’s smart,” I said, not surprised that the idea had been Hawk’s. That brooding motherfucker knew stealth better than most. Hell, it had been his specialty when he’d been in the Marines.

“I don’t think it will be long before Hawk greenlights some action,” Pipe said, some clicking noises happening in the background. “Meanwhile, I’m gathering as much data on their businesses that I can to ruin the Watchmen financially before we take them out physically.”

I grinned, loving hearing about the absolute destruction of my enemies. “When you decide to strike, let me know. I’ll be the first in line to take out those bastards with my bare hands.”

“I know you will, Brother,” Pipe said, sounding amused.

Looking at the steaks, I realized we forgot to pick up wine at the grocery store. This feast paired exceptionally well with a dry red, and Pipe had a liquor cabinet filled with several pricey vintages in the living room.

“Do you mind if I raid your liquor cabinet tonight?” I posed then, loving the idea of sitting outside on this scenic deck with Kayla while we sipped wine and chatted. And fucked, of course. There’d be plenty of that, too.

Pipe paused. “Tell me again that you’re not fucking this girl? I’m not sure I heard you the first time,” Pipe dryly returned.

“Fuck off,” I said, but laughed despite my harsh words. “Is that a yes or a no?”

“I’m thinking I should have gone on this run up to Cali instead of you,” Pipe mused then, giving me a ration of shit. “I hear she’s a looker, too. And I do love a good shoot out.”

Anger, irrational and strong, rose up in my chest. Tamping it down, as I knew that my Brother was trying to get a rise out of me, I cracked my knuckles to alleviate the sudden tension in my body. “Not going to happen.”

Pipe laughed for real then. “That’s what I thought. Drink whatever you want. I don’t get down to the cabin half as much as I’d like to. Somebody ought to enjoy the place.”
