I have it bad for Ayana, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I take a sip of whisky, not really listening to the conversation around me. My stare is intent on the doorway. What the hell could be keeping her?
I glance at my Rolex. It's 8:45, and she's not here. She better not be a no-show, and she sure as hell better not show up with a man. I will murder him where he stands.
I gulp down more whiskey and walk to the bar area for another one. An antsy, irritable feeling grows within me. I need Ayana here. Now. It will piss me the fuck off if she deprives me of mind fucking her like usual.
Last night, I jerked off in the shower thinking about how she glares at me when she thinks I'm not looking. I also notice the furious pinch of her mouth whenever Lux is around me. And I love it. The closer I push Ayana to the edge, the faster she can be in my bed for good.
Thoughts of Ayana and the classy way she carries herself fill my thoughts. Her strength and intellect turn me on just as much as her curvy frame. Her quick wit adds fuel to my fire.
"Great party." Bill, the head of the media department, sidles up next to me bringing me out of the heated memory from my shower last night and back to the real world.
"Ahem, thanks, Bill," I reply and then feel a sudden tightening in my gut and along my spine.
I sense Ayana has entered the room without even seeing her. I just do. The electricity traveling over my body has me lifting and turning my head towards the doorway. And the source of my existence stands in all her beauty.
My breath halts in my throat. My heart slams against my chest. My dick presses against my zipper. Fuckkkk. I need to keep it together, but her loveliness enthralls me. She is beautiful in her work attire, but tonight she is a vision in her short clingy black dress. The Vee in her neckline plunges and lies against her plump breasts. My mouth waters with each step she takes. I let loose an inward groan.
"Your assistant is gorgeous.” Bill chuckles. “Too bad you have that no fraternizing policy in place." I turn to Bill, and he gives me a knowing look.
My father would've been around Bill's age had he been alive. He's treated me not only like an employer but like a son during the years he's worked for me. So, I don't waste my time bullshitting him.
I swish the whiskey in my glass. "Damn, am I that transparent?
"Not only you. Look at how the other men look at her and the woman she's with. Besides my wife, Stella, they are the most beautiful women in the room."
My eyes slide to the pretty woman at Ayana's side. I didn’t even notice the other woman’s presence before now. I clench my free hand and tighten the grip on my glass at the sight of other men staring at Ayana.
I'm itching to punch everyone for staring at the beautiful vision before me. However, I also have the urge to go caveman on her ass by throwing her over my shoulder, finding the nearest bedroom and fucking her senseless.
I take another sip of whiskey as she and the woman she's with makes their way farther into the room. The hem of the dress clings around her brown thighs. I would love to kiss and lick my way up those soft thighs.
Suddenly our gazes meet, and her perfectly arched brows crease into a furrow. Ayana's smile on her red, plump, painted lips disappears. I can tell she isn't happy to see me.
As if on cue, Lux walks up to Bill and me.
I glance at Ayanna when she stops and sits at the bar's lower end. Her scowl deepens as she glares between Lux and me.
"Excuse me," I say to Bill and Lux and make my way over to Ayana.
"Wait. I need to talk to you privately," Lux calls out to my back.
I ignore her. I have one sole purpose, and that's to talk with Ayana.
She stares at me when I sit beside her on the barstool.
"Hey."
She scans the room, avoiding my stare.
"Hello, I'm Shayla,” the pretty woman says. “I'm Ayana's best friend. She's more like a sister to me, really. You must be Ayana's boss, and I guess mine too. I work at Mid-tech, the company you took over.”
"Ah, I see. Well, it's nice meeting you, Shayla. I hope you don't mind if I steal Ayana for a moment. I need to discuss a business matter with her."
"That's up to Ayana." Shayla glances at her friend, then back at me with an unsmiling face. I detect her friend doesn't like me very much.
"I thought this party was all about fun. That is the email I received that you had Lux, your beloved assistant to send out,” Ayana says.
I grin at the dry sarcasm of her voice.
