“Don’t make me beat the shit out of you, Bull. It’d piss off my woman.”
“Hey! You can’t hurt my papaw! My daddy won’t let you,” Tinny calls out. “Uncle Cooper will help him, too!”
Everyone starts laughing and I grin at the little girl. “I wouldn’t hurt him. I was just joking, Tinny.”
“Oh. It’s not very funny, Uncle Dragon,” she says, crossing her arms at her chest. “And you said bad words.”
“I guess I did. I’m sorry.”
She nods. “Don’t worry Big Paw. My Daddy is the best. He won’t let Uncle Dragon hurt you,” she adds, making everyone laugh.
“I guess, I should probably wrap this up and try to get my new niece to like me again,” I joke. I reach down and grab Nic’s drink and hand it to her, before taking my own and holding it out.
“To all of you—our family. I am thankful for each of you. I’m damn proud of who we’ve become. We work together, we grieve together, and we celebrate together. May we never forget the one truth that this club was founded on. We don’t have to share the same DNA to be a family. May we always remember love brought us together and loyalty will keep us that way.”
“Here! Here!” everyone chimes in.
“To the Savage Brothers MC! Live free or die trying!” I yell out our motto.
We all take a drink and as everyone starts either cheering or talking loudly to one another, I turn and look at Nicole.
“It’s been a wild ride, hasn’t it, Dragon?”
“It sure as fuck has. You stormed into my life barefooted, pumping gas, and teasing me with that delicious ass of yours and life as I had known it exploded. In its wake, you grabbed hold of me and somehow gave me every dream I never knew I had. I love you, Mama, down to myfuckingbones.”
“Forever, Dragon. Remember our promise.”
“I’ll never forget, woman,” I vow, pulling her closer and claiming her mouth with the same hunger I felt all those years ago. Time has flown by. My kids are grown now and soon, I’ll step down for the next generation to take over completely. I’ll enjoy my wife and my grandkids. It will be a different life, but just as fulfilling, because I’ll do it with my woman right by my side.
Forever.

One Year Later
“Indy, stop fidgeting. It all looks great,” Iva chastises her, making me grin. I’ve been saying the same thing for the last hour.
The past year has brought a lot of changes. Indy, Tinny, and I have all moved into a new house. When I bought my place here in Kentucky, I had a dream. Now, I have that dream and more. I have Indy, our daughter, and in a couple of months we will have our twins. One boy and one girl. That obviously required more bedrooms. Not to mention, I wouldn’t mind having another child or two in the future. So far, Indy hasn’t shut me down.
We found a house with six bedrooms and two offices. It also has a huge kitchen and living area. It’s a log home with lots of glass doors and floor to ceiling windows. My Indy fell in love with it. She still works three days a week in town. Working part time is truly what she wanted. This gives her time with her family and I’m sure not going to argue about that.
My woman actually loves living here in Kentucky. When Iva and Cooper bought my old place, it just made it better. I have most of my memories back—a few are hiding here and there. I don’t let it worry me. I’m too busy making new ones every day.
The doorbell rings and I give Indy a kiss before making my way to the door. Mom hugs me while simultaneously directing Skylar, Joker, Dom, and Thea where to put all the food she’s brought.
“Where’s the baby?” I ask Dom.
“Dad has her. They’re on their way,” he says over his shoulder as he follows Thea.
I look up at my father and grin at him. He wraps his arms around me and hugs me close. “Love you, son.”
That’s something he does often since I found my way back to Kentucky. I like it. We came close to losing one another and we will never take being together for granted again. “Love you, too, Dad.”
“Big Paw!” Tinny screams, running into the room. Dad picks her up and throws her up in the air, making her burst into a fit of giggles.
“There’s my girl.”
“C’mon, Big Paw. I want to show you our Christmas tree! I already have three presents under it! Mom says I’ve been a good girl!”
“That’s because you have!” Dad agrees and I just shake my head.
As the house fills with all my family and friends, I search out my beautiful Indy. Her head is thrown back in laughter, her stomach round with our babies. Suddenly, a memory pops into my mind. It’s one I’ve never had before.
It’s of the day my life was blown to hell. I remember standing outside a barbecue joint, waiting on Diego. I looked across the street and my eyes landed on the most gorgeous blonde I’d ever seen in my life. I remember wanting to go after her, claiming her right then. I almost had, but she began talking to another man. I felt so much disappointment, thinking she was already taken.
My lips spread into a huge smile. The blonde that day was Indy. I don’t know who the man was, but I know without a doubt it wasn’t anyone special to her. No, Indy is all mine. She always will be.
Just as I will always be hers.
