“I don’t know, you’re less of a dick lately. I mean, don’t get me wrong, you’re still a dick but just a teeny bit less of one now.” She held her two fingers slightly apart to emphasise what she was saying.

“Haha Ruby. Pot, meet kettle,” I deadpanned, and she feigned outrage.

The jumper itched and I really wanted to take it off, but I had told Caleb I would wear it and I kept my word. In the few weeks since we’d made things official, I had found myself doing things I wouldn’t normally. The jumper was case in point. But bloody hell what a smile Caleb had shot my way when he'd seen me in it. It was the first time in my life someone had called me cute and my eyes ached with the strength it took not to roll them. Caleb’s happiness was infectious, and I loved it, I loved….

“August, Ruby, you’re both looking very festive today.” I didn’t need to turn my chair around to know that Caleb was behind me, with a bright grin on his face. I could hear the cheeriness in his voice. We hadn’t made our relationship public yet so he was pretending he hadn’t already seen me in this monstrosity already.

“I could say the same about you,” Ruby replied with a chuckle.

Caleb was wearing blue jeans and a navy jumper with two smiling avocados on it. Snowflakes were dotted around, overthe back and down the sleeves. On his head he wore the most ridiculous elf hat.

“August,” he turned his attention to me. “I know we were meeting with Noel after lunch but we’ve moved it forward so we can get an early start for that um…” he paused, looked at Ruby and then back at me, dropping his voice when he continued, “That thing.”

Right, that thing. Visiting Caleb’s parents’ house for a few days. I hadn’t celebrated Christmas with anyone but myself in years. When I was a teen, I would occasionally go over to Branson’s but mostly I sat in my room and ate a ready meal, while watching horror movies.

“Sure, that’s no problem.” Caleb nodded before walking off towards the accounts team.

Ruby grunted next to me and my gaze shot to hers. “A thing? What thing could you possibly have with the boss a few days before Christmas?”

The jumper began to itch even more and I tugged at the collar, whilst I thought of what to say. Caleb wanted everyone to know, it was me who was a little hesitant. He’d made sure we filed the required HR paperwork but other than that no one at Manners Media knew about us.

“Spill the beans August, come on.” Ruby levelled me with a glare. Fuck she was nosey.

“Fine, fucks sake Ruby, you need to learn to mind your own business. But fine. Caleb and I are going to see his parents.” Her brow furrowed in confusion.

“Why would you be meeting his…” Ruby's eyes raised as the realisation hit her.

“Oh! Oh shit, you’re screwing the boss!” Her voice was a high pitched squeal.

“Shut up Ruby, I don’t need everyone knowing my business. Drop it okay?” I looked around to make sure no one else was privy to our little chat.

“Nope, not dropping it, you wanker. I want details. This is the best gossip I’ve had since Kent in accounting accidentally played that porn video during the yearly budget meeting.” I laughed at that - Kent had been mortified and we had all had to endure a very long email from HR about not browsing personal emails and social media on company time. Thanks a lot Kent.

I huffed and shook my head. She was incorrigible but I’d let her have this. “Fine Rubs, I will fill you in later but keep it to yourself yeah?”

Ruby made a motion as though to zip her mouth shut. I imagined it wouldn’t be long before the whole office knew.

An hour later, I strolled into Caleb's office. Noel was already there, sitting on the sofa, his legs crossed and his laptop resting on top of them. He pushed aside the device and stood when he saw me, coming over to clap me on the back.

“August! It’s good to see you again.”

“You too Noel. What brings you to London so close to Christmas?”

“Business and pleasure.” Noel winked at me, his usual charm in full force.

Caleb was at the small bar near the window, pouring two glasses of water. He turned when I entered and gestured to the glasses.

“Anything for you August?” I shook my head and took a seat on the opposite end of the sofa to Noel.

My eyes locked on Caleb. Standing at the window, with the winter sun pouring in, his auburn hair looked redder thanusual. His jumper hugged his broad shoulders and his jeans sat perfectly on his waist. My thoughts went back to how gorgeous he’d looked that morning, all sex rumpled and sleepy wearing nothing but a worn white tee while he carried a mug of coffee through to me in his bed.

That thought had me picturing how stunning he would look naked, pressed up against the tall windows. How we could look out at London while I fucked him against the cool glass. Heat ran through my veins and southward where my dick gave a twitch and I shifted my legs. It took Noel clearing his throat next to me to break me from my lustful thoughts.

I turned to Noel who was looking at me with a sly grin, his lip tipped up on one side, his perfectly straight teeth peeking out. He looked between Caleb and I and shuffled closer to me so his leg was brushing mine, before he stretched his arm over the back of the sofa and gently brushed his fingers over my shoulder.

I watched as Caleb took in Noel’s movements and his body tensed, tension rolling off him in waves. I knew exactly what Noel was doing and I found it pretty funny. Sure, I could have put a stop to it but Caveman Caleb was about to show up and I fucking loved that side of him.

Caleb’s eyes narrowed at Noel before he spoke, his voice firm. “Would you mind removing your hand from my boyfriend?”
