Candace sucks her bottom lip between her teeth for the tenth time since the doors opened. “Maybe a little.”

“You have no reason to be. This place looks amazing,” I say, reassuring her.

She beams at me. “It’s just my first big project…”

I shake my head. “And you nailed it.” I lean in and kiss the top of her head. “You’re a fantastic designer. People are going to be banging down your door to hire you after this.”

Candace snorts. “Not so sure that designing a sex club is going to get me as many clients as you think. Especially since I’m a wedding planner.”

That’s another thing that’s changed this last year. Candace had so much fun helping Sugar with her wedding that she decided that’s what she wants to do. Her business is thriving. Within a month, she had to move from working out of her old apartment to a real office space and hire two assistants. She’s crazy successful, and I couldn’t be more proud.

“We’ll see. When word gets around with the members that you designed this place and are overseeing the remodel for the original location, they are going to be begging you to work for them.”

“You really think so?” she asks shyly.

“I know so,” I answer with confidence. I’ve already had three people ask who designed the new club and ask for the decorator’s info.

She tips her lips up for a kiss, and like always, I indulge my little girl. I pull her close, kissing her until the people around us disappear, and all that’s left is the angel in my arms. She’s breathless and looking at me with a dreamy smile when I pull away.

“I love you, daddy.”

“I love you too, angel mine.”

I slip my hand into my pocket again and fist the ring hidden there. Tonight’s the night that I’m asking Candace to marry me. She’s been wearing my collar since the day she came back to me—the one she offered me that night and one that I picked out and asked her to wear. She loves having both an untraditional and traditional sign of our bond. Some doms might be satisfied with collaring their submissives… not me. I want her to wear my ring and carry my last name so that no one can ever question who she belongs to.

She’s mine.

CANDACE

Life is perfect.

I have a thriving business. Amazing friends. A man that I love more than anything in the world. And a ring practically burning a hole in the sexy bra I’m wearing under the sweet little dress Andre laid out for me to wear tonight. He loves picking my outfits for the club. Sometimes I’m a sexy siren… other times, like tonight, I’m his dolled-up babygirl. I love being both things for him because no matter what, I’m always Andre’s angel.

Andre pulls me against his chest, whispering at me that there’s no reason for me to be nervous for probably the hundredth time tonight. I laugh to myself because my nervousness has nothing to do with people liking the club's design. I totally kicked ass at making this place look amazing. I’m confident in my abilities as a designer. I might’ve settled on doing weddings because I love them—yeah, I’ve become a total sap for helping couples get their happily ever after, sue me—but I still rock at interior design too.

So no, I’ve got zero nerves about the club opening night… my nerves are all about the fact that I’m about to buck tradition again and ask Andre to marry me. Another scheme cooked up with Sugar as my coconspirator and cheerleader. I fiddle with the little angel pendant on the bracelet that serves as my second collar. Andre is definitely a traditional kind of guy, and while he loves that I was brave enough to offer him a collar, he wanted one that he picked too.

I worry my lip between my teeth as Andre starts his welcome speech. I decided to go big or go home and ask him while all the attention is still on him. I’m jerked out of my distraction by a round of applause. I reach out for Andre’s hand again and find that he’s not beside me anymore.

When did he move?

I turn to look for him and gasp when I see him kneeling in front of me, a glittering ring in his hand. He opens his mouth to speak, and I don’t even give him a chance. I throw myself at him causing us both to go sprawling when I catch him off guard saying, ‘yes yes yes’ and kissing him over and over.

He laughs at my exuberance like he always does as he slides the ring on my finger.

Yeah, life is absolutely perfect, and getting better by the minute.
