“Take Rachelle on a nice, long vacation to a deserted island somewhere in the Caribbean.”

Rachelle settled deeper into the couch. “I’m glad Eric is improving. Jesse is a great medic.”
“He’s dedicated. Every time I look in on Eric during the night, Jesse is awake, watching over Eric. I don’t think the man sleeps at all.”
“The operatives are like Superman. They don’t quit until the job’s finished.”
“So, how are things going with your friend?” Amy asked. “You and Cal looked pretty cozy before you left us.”
She smiled. “We’re officially dating now.”
“That’s great! Too bad you can’t go on real dates instead of hiding.”
“We squeezed in a few dates.”
“Were they good ones?” Amy teased.
“They were perfect.” She lowered her voice, aware of Cal standing across the room. “He’s the most thoughtful man I’ve ever had the privilege to know.”
“You sound as though you’re smitten with the handsome operative.”
Smitten didn’t come close to describing how she felt about Cal Taylor. “You could say that.”
A gasp. “Rachelle, are you in love with him?”
“Maybe.” Head over heels.
“How long have you known him?”
“A year.” The best day of her life was the day he walked into her office to speak to Micah.
