Sasha wrapped her arms around Matt’s neck. “Thanks.” Her voice sounded choked.

He held her for a minute. “He wouldn’t cooperate with the doctor until he knew Bravo was here to watch over you both. That’s why there’s been a delay in his treatment.”

She gave a watery laugh. “Sounds like him.”

“Can’t fault him. He adores you and will do anything to make sure you’re safe.”

Sasha released Matt and wiped the tears from her face. “I don’t know what I would do without him.”

“That’s not going to happen.” Liam handed Sasha one of the soft drink bottles he’d brought back and gave Delilah the other. “I know you don’t normally drink this, Delilah, but make an exception today.”

She eyed the green bottle with distaste. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d had a carbonated drink other than sparkling water.

Matt took her bottle and broke the seal before handing it back. “One quarter of the bottle, okay? We’ll take a walk later and burn off the calories. The sugar helps combat shock.”

A few hours later, Bravo left the hospital with a woozy Cade and a relieved Sasha. Matt turned to Trent. “The black truck four rows behind my SUV followed us here from the Holloway house and has stayed for five hours. Take Cade and Sasha back to the hotel while the rest of us take different routes. I want to lose this clown if I can.”

“Know who’s tailing you?”

Matt shook his head. “Haven’t been able to catch a license plate or see a face. While we lead him away from you and the Ramseys, I’ll call Zane and see if he can identify the truck and driver.”

“We’ll see you at the hotel.” Trent guided Cade and Sasha to his SUV, then drove from the lot.

“Will they be all right?” Delilah asked.

“Liam and Simon will take alternate routes back to the hotel, but they won’t be far. If Trent needs an assist, he’ll have backup in minutes. So far, no one appears to be interested in Trent and the others. The black truck is still in the same place.”

“What will we do?”

“Find a place for lunch. I’m starving. Bravo will order room service. They won’t leave the Ramseys alone.”

Delilah checked the time. “It’s dinner time now.”

“Do you have recommendations? I want a restaurant away from Harmony and West Fork.”

When Matt climbed behind the wheel, Delilah asked, “Are you in the mood for Mexican?”

“Always. It’s my favorite.”

“Great. I know just the place.” She gave him directions to Castle Springs, a town 30 miles in the opposite direction from West Fork.

While Matt drove away from Harmony, he contacted Zane on his Bluetooth.

“Murphy.”

“It’s Matt. You’re on speaker with Delilah. I need you to do more hacking for me.”

“I live to outsmart the law. What do you need?”

“Hack into the traffic and security cameras around the Holloway house, starting from eight this morning to one this afternoon.”

“What am I looking for?”

“Black pickup tailing my SUV. I haven’t been able to get a look at the license plate or the driver.”

“Is it behind you now?”

“Yeah, but I’m on Highway 219. I haven’t seen traffic cams. Delilah and I are driving to Castle Springs for lunch and leading our tail away from our hotel and Cade.”
