“Do you think he killed Mom?” Delilah asked.

“It’s possible. Since you asked for an autopsy, hopefully we’ll find out what caused her death.”

“At least I know Zach didn’t kill her. He was at Legacy’s with his friends.”

“Doesn’t prevent him from hiring someone to do his dirty work,” Cade said.

A raw laugh escaped Delilah’s throat. “My brother probably doesn’t have two cents to rub together.”

Matt placed a call a moment later.

“Talk to me,” Trent said.

“You’re on speaker with Delilah and the Ramseys. Delilah’s mother passed away a few minutes ago.”

“Oh, man. I’m sorry for your loss, Delilah. How can we help?”

“Allowing Matt to be with me is enough.”

“When is the funeral? The rest of Bravo would like to be there for you and Matt.”

“According to my stepfather, Mom didn’t want a service.”

“Interesting. Matt, what do you need?”

“To be off with Delilah as long as she’s in Harmony.”

“Done. What else?”

“It could be a few days, Trent.”

“We’ll handle it.”

Cade spoke up. “I need to stay as well.”

“Expecting trouble, Matt?”

“Maybe. Delilah requested an autopsy. We found her stepfather in the hospital room, standing over her mother with a pillow clutched in his hands.”

“He killed her?”

“Don’t know, but Randy Holloway’s behavior is odd. He doesn’t appear upset about losing his wife.”

“Keep me apprised of any developments. You talk to Maddox yet?”

“I planned to call him after I returned to the hotel.”

“Let me know if he doesn’t want you and Cade to take off a few days.”

“Yes, sir.”

Matt drove into the garage under the hotel and parked near the elevator. Back in their suite, he said, “I’ll take the first watch, Cade. You and Sasha rest.”

A nod. “I’ll relieve you in four hours.” Cade threaded his fingers through Sasha’s and led her to their room.

Delilah followed their progress, heart aching.

“Something wrong?”
