“I don’t have a child,” he snapped.

“You’re being really rude.”

“How is it rude to ask if the guy who got my sister pregnant is going to marry her?” Linc demanded.

“Why are you so hung up on marriage right now?” I stomped down on the gas as soon as we hit the highway.

“I’m not hung up on marriage!” he snapped.

I fought the urge to pull over. An hour ago, I had been planning to take Linc back to my place and ravage him. Now I just wanted him out of my car. He was being unreasonable, and I didn’t know why.

“I was going to invite you to my place,” I said tightly.

“I would like to see your place,” he answered just as angrily.

“Fine,” I snapped. I wasn’t happy about the situation. For weeks now, Linc and I had been getting along, but now it seemed like he was walling himself off again. He had gotten a bee in his bonnet, and it was making him act strangely. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be around him, but I wasn’t willing to cast him aside either. I knew he would make a great father, whether or not we got married. And I was fairly certain that he would get over whatever was bothering him. Maybe he really was worried about Gina’s feelings. I had a hard time swallowing that. He hadn’t said two words to Gina when he first arrived home. He never once expressed any reservations about her relationship with Porter. It was weird, and it was throwing me off, and yet still, I couldn’t resist him. I wanted to take all my anger and confusion and work it out in the bedroom.

I pulled up to my cabin and it was like a switch had been flipped. Linc went from cross to curious in a single breath. He gazed up at my place from beneath the windshield, opening his car door with a mixture of awe and respect.

“You live here?” he asked.

“Yep.” I climbed out to stand beside him.

“It’s nice.”

“Around back, I have kind of a view,” I said, taking him by the hand.

He allowed himself to be led, his hand warm in my own. I took him around the side of the house to the back where my two lounge chairs sat. All along, I had been dreaming of bringing Linc here, to share in my haven and experience my world. Yet now that I had him, the last thing I wanted to do was sit on two separate lounge chairs.

He wandered over to the edge of the clearing, looking down into the valley. The light had almost fled from the sky, but we could still see the ghosts of the hills in the distance. He turned back to me, a curious look on his face.

“Can I spend the night?”

“Of course,” I said, sensing there was more to his request than amorous feelings.

I stood behind him for a long moment, watching him watch the sunset. He turned, his eyes burning with a desperation I had never seen before. He crossed the distance between us, threaded his arm behind my back, and pulled me to him. His lips found mine with an urgency that took my breath away. I sank into the kiss until I lost my footing, until I was swept away by thetidal wave of passion. I felt my heart race, the heat of his mouth burning into my core. My arms found his shoulders, and I held on for dear life. His touch was ravenous, his kiss insatiable.

I bent over under the onslaught, forcing him to assume some of my weight. He held me tight, stabilizing me as he plundered the recesses of my mouth. I worked my hands between us, pushing him away so I could come up for air.

“Bed,” I gasped.

He nodded, taking me by the hand and leading me back to the front door. I was shaking as I tried to fit the key into the lock, nervous that if I failed, he would take me right there on the porch. I got the shaft into the hole on the third try, twisting the door open and revealing my domain.

He barely looked at anything, making a beeline for the hallway and the bedroom that lay beyond. I stumbled out of my shoes as we went, leaving a trail behind me. He pushed the door open and beheld the majesty that was my bed, complete with comfy blankets and fluffy pillows.

As if he were furious with the sheets, he yanked them off, tossing them to the floor after undressing the mattress. Satisfied, Linc turned back to me, ready to take care of my clothes next.

He gripped my face in two hands, reclaiming his place within the haven of my mouth. This kiss was just as hungry, his tongue dancing circles around mine, drinking in my soul. He sat down on the bed, pulling me on top of him.

I slipped my shirt off, unhooking my bra so that my breasts hung free. He ignored them, anchoring me firmly against his growing erection. I draped my arms over his shoulders and rocked against him, following his lead wherever it might go.

He grabbed my ass and pressed me tight, as if by doing so he could magically erase the layers of fabric between us. My hair cascaded down my back, dancing in place with each eager thrust. He sought out my lips again but grew frustrated and gave up quickly. He pushed me to my feet, urgency driving his every move.

I was swept up in it. This would be no lovemaking session. He wanted to fuck me as quickly as possible. I felt my juices begin to flow at the thought. I had been eager to bed him all night after seeing him with Seth. But this was something entirely different. Gone was the gentle and loving uncle who had purchased toys and flowers for his sister and her family. Gone was the goofy driver who did whatever was asked of him in exchange for friendship and respect.

The man in my bed was an animal. He wanted only one thing, and he was determined to taste me until he had his fill. I watched as he stripped his clothes off, sparing no time for romance. I fumbled with my own waistband, sliding my pants down and kicking them away. As soon as I had released myself from my underwear, he pulled me back down.

Seated again at the edge of the mattress, his cock rose between us. It was swollen and nearly purple. Without giving me time to think, he guided me down on top of it.
