She would have a full life. A father that would protect her against the world. A mother who would hold her hand when needed, and listen to everything she wanted to share.

And an uncle that would probably spoil her too much.

She would never be alone.

I smiled, blinking away the tears, thinking about Derek. He was broken after William. His soul was ripped apart, and guilt consumed him. And I feared I would lose him again.

He couldn’t even look at me the first weeks, too ashamed of his actions. He stepped down from the throne. The bones around it were laid to rest, and the room was restored to its old glory.

Neither Isaac nor I had stepped up to take the throne. Neither of us was eager for it, but it was necessary eventually. We were burdened to bring the two worlds together, to bring back all who were exiled all those years ago. Letting them come home, where they belong.

Alphas and Lunas from all over the Lunar Realm had come to show their allegiance, but there wasn’t anyone they could pledge to.

And now, they camped in the forest, waiting for us to claim what was rightfully ours.

However, we couldn’t care about it. We only had eyes for each other and this little bundle.

Our lives were filled. We didn’t need anything else. Nor right now.

“You should really get some sleep, little bird,” Isaac whispered, his eyes glowing in the darkness of our room.

My wolf growled in warning at the sight of Logan. They had some struggles to work out. Katia was a piece of work, and she wasn’t willing to submit to Logan. Isaac loved that about her, and Logan struggled with it.

He wanted her submission, as it was his nature. He never demanded that from me, but maybe that was because I always gave it willingly.

There wasn’t anything I could do. She wasn’t speaking to me, nothing other than some comments here and there.

Even the shifting didn’t work. I tried a few times. But she was… just difficult.

I believed she was angry at the world, and I couldn’t blame her. When I was fully healed, she whispered to me,“so much pain.”And that was the last thing she had said.

I wasn’t in a hurry. We had all the time in the world to come together. There weren’t any enemies left. Well, that wasn’t completely true.

“Oh, little bird, eager, are we?” Isaac teased, sensing where my mind was going.

“He needs to be punished,” I whispered.

“And he will. Conner is looking for Liam. He won’t escape our wrath.”

My lips curled, and I inched closer. Wanting to feel the warmth of his lips on mine. Sparks trailed on my lips as they connected with his, and I sighed in contentment. Heat crawled under my skin, and a growl vibrated in his chest.

“Little bird, don’t tease me,” he murmured against my lips, and I peeled myself away.

Rubbing my thighs together, I focused back on the sweet little girl.

“I can put her in her crib,” Isaac offered, and I laughed warmly, slowly meeting his lust-filled eyes again.

“What are you waiting for, Alpha?”

He grinned and carefully lifted our pup in his arm, slowly crawling out of bed to put her in her crib in her room, the one linked to ours.

The moonlight that shone through the curtains made me wonder again where Celine was. We went back to the cave, but she was nowhere to be found. Disappeared into thin air.

Maybe Helia was coming for her, or maybe the other way around. Perhaps we would never know. And that was okay. It wasn’t our fight. It was theirs, between gods.

Isaac’s prowl snapped me back from my thoughts. His chest rose and fell with every breath, his eyes wandering over my body as he shook his head.

“Kneel for me, little bird.” His order shivered through me, and I willingly complied. Eagerly waiting for his next move.
