“Us. We’d never leave her without access to at least one of us.”

I glance at the food. All the things that could go wrong rush across my head.

“Trust, Jo. Remember, we’re learning trust.”

I look up at Jayden. He raises a dark eyebrow.

“No more running. No more hiding. Just let go and trust us.” Cole kisses the top of my head. “You can do that, yeah?”

I let out a breath. Over the past few years, the men have consistently shown effort to be there for me, even when it’s hard for them. Especially once MJ showed up. They work tirelessly to support her and me. If there was ever a time for trust, it’d be now.

Before I can overthink it, I grab a fork and take a bite of the food. It’s heavenly. The pancakes are pillowy and soft. Cole has added bacon, too, and I enjoy the salty side.

The men watch me eat, pupils blown again. I slow down, muttering, “You’ve seen me eat before, chill.”

“Sassy, even while drugged.” Cole shakes his head and laughs.

I don’t feel any different. But as soon as my plate is cleared, I feel a rush of lightheadedness. I blink to clear it.

“There it is.” Cole comes up behind me and grabs me. “Fall into me, Jo. Let go and fall. Let me show you how good trust can be.”

The End.
