I blinkedthe sleep out of my eyes on Sunday morning. Kelly’s open eyes were easy to make out in the light peeking past the shades.
A smile broadened on her face. “You were out like a light. How do you feel this morning?”
“How long have you been awake?”
She placed a hand on my chest, and her finger started to draw circles. “I dunno, maybe a half hour? Why do you always answer a question with another question?”
I stretched my shoulders before rolling toward her. “This bed is comfortable. You should have woken me up.” I placed a kiss on her nose.
The cute crease in her brow appeared. Not cute because it meant something good was coming my way, but just cute because so much about her was adorable.
“You know it’s okay to kiss me, like, for real,” she said.
I rolled over and my feet met the floor. “Morning breath.”

That cute little brow crease appeared again, but only for second before a giggle overtook her. “Sorry…conditioning. I still don’t want to go out.” She turned and continued into the bathroom.
