“I got the usual standard shots that I will send over, but here are my photos of the buildings.”
She slid over and he took the seat in front of the computer and began to slide through the photos. There were no words to see what she had captured of the place he grew up. The building they were in was an old barn, that in his childhood had served as a gathering place before the lodge building was set up.
She had managed to get the character of the inside and the outside of this building and the two next door. Something that only she managed to understand, the history here, shots of the old doors, things that she somehow knew he would incorporate into the renovation.
These photos would help him tremendously as he worked on designing the renovations. He knew what he wanted to keep, and she had gotten everything. Now he could take those photos and incorporate them into his design and start work soon.
“This is wonderful.” Turning to her, he put an arm around her. “As always.”
Grace dropped her head on his shoulder. “I’m glad. Are you going to keep most of the old features?”
“You never ask about the plans.” He pointed out.
“I didn’t mean to overstep.” Lifting her head, he realized he had definitely put his foot in his mouth.
“No, stay, I didn’t mean anything bad. I want to share this with you. I hope you’ll be around to see the work get completed with me?”
“I hope so too,” came her small reply.
Tristan launched into what he had envisioned for the changes to this building. She made a few comments here and there, things that he hadn’t noticed about details of the building. Occasionally she snapped a few photos as he walked through the rooms with her.
“I think this is going to look amazing. I can’t wait to see it.”
Tristan felt his chest fill with pride. He knew with her by his side, this was going to be his best project yet.
