Minnie banged on the door before we even came to a full stop then nearly hauled my arm off as she pulled me from the van. Morgan parked by a line of trailers that looked like they came straight out of a showroom.

“Let’s get you changed before anyone sees you in jeans.” I laughed as she pushed me through the door and shoved the bag into my hand. “Strip.” I didn’t waste any time and slipped into the tiny black dress. It was a skimpy bra on the top and an extremely short skirt for the bottoms. “Eight years ago, Tess convinced Trigger to clear the area of rocks and whatnot because we were killing ourselves in our heels.”

“Heels!” She held up a couple pairs of matching heels, and I thought she was nuts. Though I lived in heels, this was the desert, after all.

“Remember, we need to dress to keep the guys’ eyes on us. There’s a lot of tits and ass out there.”

“Min, Brick loves you and only has eyes for you. Why go through all of this when you’re practically married?”

“How do you think I’ve kept his eyes from wandering?” She started to change, but I caught a glimpse of tears. Minnie was a strong woman, but Brick was her kryptonite. Maybe she needed more from this weekend than I realized.

“Remind me again why I’m dressing up?” I turned and glanced over my shoulder at the back of my outfit. “Not that I’m complaining, because I look fucking good in this.”

“Yes, you do.” She chuckled and pulled her cream dress up over her hips. It crisscrossed in the front and dipped low in the back. Minnie didn’t have much for boobs, but she had a killer ass.

“You look good yourself, girl!” I waved a finger over her outfit, and she wiggled for me.

“Okay, Kenna, you need to stand out and give that snatch of yours a chance to clear the cobwebs.”

“Well, if you insist.” We grabbed a bottle of champagne each and headed out to meet with the others. Tess looked amazing in her booty shorts and tube top, though she’d look good in a brown paper bag. As soon as she spotted us, she headed over.

“And why is this not popped?” She took the bottle from Minnie and pressed her thumbs into the cork, and it popped loudly and sent a spray into the air. We laughed together as we held out our glasses.

By the time the sun set, we all had a good buzz on, and the music was loud but not to the point where we couldn’t hear each other. We sat around the fire pit near the trailers with the guys and laughed until we hurt at Rail’s antics. He’d had way too much to drink and couldn’t do up his pants after taking a leak.

“Brick, Brick, Brick,” Rail thrust his crotch in his face, “you need to finish what ya started.” A girl who had been trying to get Brick’s attention moved over to Rail to help him out.

“Wingman.” Minnie winked at me but kept her eye on Brick. She frowned, and I felt it too. He seemed distant from everyone. “Speaking of wingman.” She put her hand to her mouth. “Hey, Dillon, come here.”

“Yes, yes,” Tess hooted, “Dillon would be a good match.” Tess grinned at Minnie then at me. “He’s from the Texas chapter, and he’s the VP. Got no little sperms walkin’ around, and he’s clean.” She pointed to her crotch.

“Hey, Min.” He approached. He wore a bandana around his neck and a cowboy hat dipped low on his head. “How’s your night going?”

“Fabulous.” Minnie pointed at me, and we all stood. “This here’s my girl Kenna. She works in Vegas.”

“Vegas.” His dark eyes moved to mine, and he grinned a boyish grin. “I guess they don’t lie when they say Vegas has the prettiest gals.”

“Nice to meet you.”

“The pleasure’s all mine, beautiful.” He kissed the back of my hand. “Maybe you and I could talk more and get to know one another.”

“Sure.” I inwardly sighed, though I played along. I could already see he was way too tame for me. I caught Minnie press her lips together and make anoh, shit, we may have made a mistakefaceat Tess.

“Let me check with some people and I’ll hurry right back.” He tipped his hat to me, and once he was out of earshot, I looked at the girls and threw up my hands.

“Seriously?” I folded my arms. “Have you and Rail switched your book club nights to Nicholas Sparks?”

“Hey!” Rail peeled the girl off his lips. “You will not speak ill of Nicholas. He’s a very talented man.”

“You read?” the girl cooed at him.

“I do,” Rail gave her a drunken grin, “a lot. But it’s got to have angst.”

Trigger shook his head at us, and Brick closed his eyes and cursed.

“Anyway,” I chuckled, “thanks, but I think I got this. Let me see what I can find myself.” I moved around the firepit and went for a little walk. I scoped out the men. A few caught my eye, but as soon as they did, their woman caught wind and they moved in and did something slutty. I knew better and backed off. They’d staked their claim first. It was the rules, after all. I walked around a bit more, but I remembered Trigger’s warning not to stray too far. Though this was a DR party, that didn’t mean all were members. Tess had warned me as well, and I’d heard stories about her first time there. I wasn’t about to tempt fate.

“You’re new.” A guy’s voice made me spin around. “Name’s Tristen. I’m a good friend of Trigger’s.” He wasn’t bad looking and had a nice smile. “And Tess’s, if that helps my chances to talk to you.”
