I shook like a leaf as the terror I admitted to freely flowed through my body.

Acceptance is the first step to healing.

This is not AA. Shove it.

Rehan grunted unhappily. “What’s Pixie dust?”

I swore. “Did he get it from a human or a Pixie?”

Rehan started to step toward me. Like Tyson, a glaze covered his eyes, and his cheeks were flushed. An erection tented his pants, though he seemed to be ignoring it.

Ogden, my only undrugged mate, slipped between me and Rehan as if protecting me. “It’s in you too, Rehan.”

The last time we discussed how to fix something, which my magic could have sorted in minutes, smacked me in the face. Just like he physically blocked Rehan now, Og blocked me then.

“Oh, fuck you!” I pushed Ogden’s back, making him fall into Rehan. “I don’t think you believe you deserve love,” I quoted him. “All getting your magic back will do is give you more tools to lie to yourself. Even if it means letting the world burn, I will not participate.”

Og eyes widened.

“And now Tyson’s burning, literally,” I added bitterly.

Og balled his fists. “Jay, you pointed out that if you get your magic back, the person watching you can find you again.” His eyes turned into their dragon slits. “You’re the one saying no now, not me. What point are you trying to make?”

“I don’t know! I just need to fix this.” I screamed and flung myself onto the bed, feeling Tyson’s vitals. His pulse raced like he ran a marathon. Spit ran out of the corner of his mouth. If he shifted, his dragon metabolism could handle the dosage better… assuming the beast didn’t go on a rampage. But even if that was an option, Tyson’s mind was so far gone I didn’t think he could find his dragon if he wanted to.

“I know you do,” Og said, resting his hand on my back. “We’ll fix it. Together.”

Together.I clung to the word and took a deep breath. “How much dust did he get?” I asked, forcing down my panic with logic. “Do you know what a Pixie looks like?”

Rehan shook his head while Lux spun on his metal leg, only to land sideways, sprawled out on the bed on my other side. “Toomuch! Sket Sket.” He ran his hands down his ripped shirt and gripped his erection with his metal hand before saying ouch and doing it again. Giggles filled the air.

Pixie dust.

At least it didn’t set off his rut.

It hadn’t… I forced myself not to question it. At least not yet.

I risked a peek at Og. The warlock’s scales flashed across his skin, but his human eyes watched my every move. He was so fucking calm.

Rehan gave me a quick rundown of what happened. “I didn’t breathe in much, but I can feel my blood rushing. Everything is exciting, and, I’m un, well,” he motioned to his crotch. “Very horny.”

Despite everything, or maybe because of it, I half scowled and half grinned. Rehan narrowed his eyes as if knowing exactly what I was going to say.

I said it anyway. “I don’t see any horns.”

No one laughed.

Lux’s giggles came to an end. “I used it too much; still hurts.” He stopped touching himself, and his body went limp, his chest rising and falling evenly.

The scales stopped appearing on Og’s skin, and a scarlet blush covered his dark cheeks.

Yeah. If you weren’t sure, there you have it.

Lux and Og, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g.

Tyson let out a gurgle and shivered despite the waves of heat coming off his body. My attention ripped to him. The fire prince who stole my fucking heart in a bathtub. Whose love made me want to be a different person. Fuck. I couldn’t even ease his pain. The anger at my missing magic transformed into my hard truth. I thought he was going to die, and I wasn’t ready to lose him yet.

Love.
